I came out of the grocery store with bags full of food. I looked up at the sky.
"Looks like it's going to rain." I hurried home. I didn't live far from town. I walked in the forest when I come across a cave. I spotted something orange. I went into the cave to have a closer look. "It's a cat?"
It was alone and wet. I looked around if someone had left it by accident.
"No sign of anyone." I took off my coat and wrapped it around the orange fur ball. The sky darkened. I run home with the cat in my arms. I got home before the first rain drop. "Phew!"
I went in the house, put the grocery bags on the counter. Then I went to the bathroom and started the bath tube. I unwrapped my coat and pulled out the cat. I tried to put it in the tube, but before its paw hit the water it jumped out of my hands and hissed at me.
"I'm sorry. I promise not to hurt you." I said and put my hand out to pet him. He starred at my hand. I backed my hand away a little. The cat rolled it's eyes at me.
"Wait! Did that cat rolls its eyes?" I pet the cat and gave it a bath. After the bath I went to the kitchen to put the groceries away. I made some dinner. "Good thing I brought some tuna."
I put it in a bowl and gave it to the cat. I sat down and ate some rice balls.
"Um...what should I name you?" I wondered I put some fish in my mouth and looked at him.
Meow!
I look at my plate and noticed a carrot that I bit into.
"How about Carrot top?" I asked. I looked into the cat's red eyes. It starred at me.
"Okay, Carrot top." I said happy with the name. I finished dinner, washed the dishes then went to bed. I put Carrot top on a pillow next to me.
"Goodnight Carrot top." I kissed him on the forehead then fell asleep.
