Healing

Warning! This may have spoilers if you have not seen the final season on Fairy Tail! 

Summary: Natsu gets hurt during a quest and it's up to Lucy to take care of him! Words and feelings will be reveled but how will they be handled?

Word count: 1138

3rd person:

Natsu stood on the battle field as his enemy scoffed at him. "You sure are a pain, aren't you? Demon." Natsu coughed up some blood and smirked. "I told you already...that's in the past, because I choose to be human! And Lucy even risked their life just for me, so I can't allow myself to lose to the likes of you!!!" Natsu then propelled himself with his fire towards the enemy and with a final Fire Dragon Punch he finished him off. The enemy was shocked at the amount of power that had come out of no where from the young man. Natsu stood proud over the guy's limp body. 

"Hah...I did it...you bast-" Natsu then fell of the ground and yelled out in pain. Memories of times his loved ones were hurt or killed began to flash through his mind at the speed of light. The burning sensation in his stomach was too much for the dragon slayer. His head was pounding as he begged for help. 

"Ahhh!! Don't! Lucy!!!"

"Natsuuu!!" Lucy cried out and ran towards the pink haired boy. "Natsu please! It's me! Everything's okay, it's over now!" Natsu keep clawing at the ground and was even crying. "Natsu..." Lucy couldn't take it anymore and hugged him was if it as the end of the world. He was burning, so much so that even Lucy was getting burned.

"Please Natsu...come back to me! Natsu! I- I haven't gotten to tell you how I feel yet..."

The dragon slayer's eyes focused once again and looked at a burnt and crying Lucy and pulled her away from his scolding body heat. "Lucy! What happened?" Lucy looked at Natsu and smiled warmly. "Nothing...everything's okay now that you're back. So don't wory anymore, okay?" Natsu could barely hear her soft voice but he did, and with the reassurance from Lucy that everyone was safe, he passed out in her arms.

"Natsu?"

"Natsu!"

"Natsu wake up!!!"

Natsu had been in and out of it for two days now and Lucy hadn't left his side once. "Lucy, are you sure about taking care of Natsu all by yourself? I know he can be quite the hassle," said Mira as she dropped some things off at Natsu's house.

"Yes, I'm sure. If only I had been there sooner then maybe...maybe I could have done something...even if I'm weak I still want to be able to take care of Natsu," Lucy then felt tears roll down her face. Mira just watched as the blondie brushed Natsu's bangs back. Mira decided that it would be best to leave Lucy alone with Natsu for a while until he recovered.

As Mira left Lucy quickly wiped her tears away and laid her head on Natsu's bed while holding on to his arm, which even when sleeping was warm.

"Please wake up..."

Natsu felt as if his body was made out of led. He felt heavy and tired and his head was pounding. The last thing he remembered was Lucy crying his name, but why? Ah, he remembers now. He had just defeated the enemy when he started to burn on the inside and he passed out in Lucy's arms. He mentally slapped himself for once again passing out in Lucy's arms. It had happened so many times now he had lost count. Hell, Lucy even let him rest in her lap when he was motion sick. She was so kind to him and he loved that. Loved...? Did he love Lucy?

Natsu slowly woke up from his thoughts and looked around. He was in his own house, but it had been cleaned. He was in his own bed but he felt a weight on his arm. He looked down to see none other than his partner, Lucy. Her blonde hair was perfectly framing her face. She had beautiful, long lashes and rosy lips. Natsu felt himself blush a little and looked away. How had he not noticed before? Or maybe he did, but was always too busy with just being with Lucy.

Natsu looked back down at Lucy and sighed. Her upper arm had been bandaged and she had a large band aid on her face. He felt bad that he had allowed Lucy to get hurt, but she seemed fine now, so that's what was important. 

Lucy's eyes fluttered open and looked up at Natsu. "Natsu, you're finally awake!" She exclaimed, letting go of my arm and cupping my face in her hands. "Are you okay? How's your stomach feel? And your arm?" Natsu just stared at Lucy with a blank face and said, "My stomach? Yeah, I feel fine now...I'm really tired though, could really use some fire right about now," he grumbled. Lucy was still staring at him with worry painted all over her face.

Natsu gave her his signature smirk and laughed. "Lucy's such a worry wart! I'm fine, I promise. But really Luce, I'm starving!"

Lucy laughed a bit but soon her giggles turned into sobs. "Wha- why are you crying Luce?"

Lucy wiped her tears away, but new ones simply kept coming back. Her whole body was shaking as she cried. He didn't know what to do, so he did the only thing he knew to do.

"Please don't cry Lucy," He said softly in her ear. So quietly that it sent shivers down her spine.

She calmed down for a bit in his warm arms before completely breaking down in his hug.

"You don't understand Natsu! I thought I almost lost you again! I thought I was too late...useless. If I lost you...I don't even know what I'd do with myself. I would be so lonely! And my heart would ache everyday for you! Who would go on quests with me? Who would burst into my room everyday? Who would make sure that I'm okay and safe? Who would I lov..." She didn't dare finish her sentence with Natsu being so close to her in his house. Because if he didn't feel the same, he would still be stuck with her care for until how long he was bed ridden for. 

Natsu stayed quiet. Thinking back to the time he thought Lucy had been killed. He knew how it felt so he hugged her tighter and warmed his body up a bit more. "I do understand, but what's important to me right now is that you're okay."

The two of them looked each other in the eye. And there they could both see the secret that they were both hiding from each other in their hearts.

Well, it wasn't a secret anymore at least.

"Come one Luce. Let's get something to eat!"

"Y-yeah!"
