I sighed as a cool breeze passed by me. Levy-chan had left a while ago with Gajeel, a wizard. Juvia, the water nymph had gone with some ice fairy named Gray, and Erza and Jellal weren't in my forest visiting right now.
My forest used to be full of life! In a forest named Fairy Tail my friends and me lived together happily. We would play in the trees, swim in the water, and eat however much we wanted. But, little by little everyone started to settle down in life and left. So now, that just left me. Alone in the woods with no one to play with.
Sometimes though, humans would pass through my forest. And it seemed like today was one of those days. I perked up from my branch and giggled to myself as I watched the pink-haired human walk by.
Next to the human was a small blue cat with wings. Huh, I haven't seen one of those before.
The man had pink hair and sharp, deep green eyes. He had a lean, but fit figure and was wearing a black vest with a sleeve on one side only; pants were matching too and he had a white scarf wrapped around his neck, even though it was spring.
Quietly flying over the man's head I dropped a pinecone on his head.
"Ow! What the...?"
I giggled as the man rubbed his head and looked around.
"What's wrong Natsu? It was just a pinecone?"
"Yeah, but it felt as if it had been thrown instead of just falling."
I gasped a little. How did he know? There's no way a human would be able to tell between the strength of a fairy and gravity. I frowned and grabbed another pinecone from the tree.
"I just have to make sure..." I said to myself.
I once again flew over Natsu's head and threw the pinecone one him. It hit it right on the head, but he didn't turn around. "So it was just a bluff," I said to myself. Just then Natsu quickly turned around and grabbed my legs with his hand.
"Wha!"
"Found you!"
He pulled me down and held me right in front of his face. Now that I look closer, he's actually quite handsome...no! Stop it Lucy! I started hitting his hand and squirming; trying to escape his hand.
"Let me go!"
"Hm? Why? You were the one that started it."
Natsu and the blue cat just stared at me as I wiggled around. After five minutes of failing to escape I gave up and let my body go limp in his hand.
At least it's warm. The human stared at me and then leaned in really close. Too close! I felt my face heat up as Natsu stared at me.
"So this is what a fairy looks like? Kinda overrated. Throwing pinecones at me definitely doesn't help your reputation you know."
I sighed and looked away. "Sorry..."
Natsu shrugged and then let me go. "Wha- hey! You can't just leave like that!" I didn't know what it was, but I didn't want the human to go just yet. I would be lonely again.
Natsu looked over his shoulder and frowned. "Look, if you don't leave me alone, I'll burn you. Now go back with the rest of your fairy friends."
He then swatted me away. I was about to argue when the thought of all my friends leaving me hit. So I hovered in the air for a bit, not saying anything. Natsu quirked and eyebrow and turned to look at me again.
"Hey, you okay? I won't actually burn you."
I let out a sniffle and began to sob. Small tears fell from my eyes and I tried to wipe them away. Panicking, Natsu looked at the blue cat and then back at me.
"H-hey! Don't cry! Happy what do I do?!"
"I don't know! Ask her why she's crying."
"That's really smart! Hey, fairy lady, why are you crying?"
I simply sobbed while Natsu and Happy stared at me. Natsu sighed and grabbed a hold of me again, and placed me on his head. His hair was oddly soft.
"I'll just carry you around until you tell me."
My cries died down a little as I saw a slight blush on Natsu's face.
"Take me with you, please!"
Natsu stopped and took me off his head and looked at me. "What!?"
"Please! All of my friends have already left the forest and everything is so lonely here! You're a wizard, right? I can sense your magic, and wizards go all over the world, so take me with you!"
Natsu laughed a little. "You're way too small! They would kill you."
I puffed out my cheeks and jumped out of his hand and changed my shape. The one thing humans didn't know about fairies is that we can grow up to their size.
Even at my max size I was still a bit smaller that Natsu.
"What about now? I can keep this form for about an hour," I said smugly.
Natsu and Happy's eye widened as they looked at me.
"Big!"
"Huge- I mean- big!"
Natsu cleared his throat and talked to Happy, whispering something about being useful. Natsu the turned around and smiled. "Alright! We'll take you, but first, what's your name?"
I smiled at the news and yelled, "Lucy! I'm Lucy. Nice to meet you, Natsu!"
A year has past since then and my feelings for Natsu have grown out of control, but does he feel the same? I decided that after this quest I would tell him. Natsu laughed with Happy as we walked through the forest. Should I tell him? Should I not? Should I tell him? Should I not? Should I tell him-
"Hey Luce!"
I snapped back to reality as Natsu yelled out my name. I was currently in my normal form so I was flying next to his head. At first he didn't like it, saying that my wings made a weird sound, but now he doesn't mind.
"Are you okay? You've acting weird. Weirder than usual."
"I'm not weird!" I looked away from him as he leaned into my face. My face was burning red and my heart was beating fast. Not like a beating drum, but like a roaring engine going 50 miles per hour that couldn't be stopped no matter how hard you hit the brakes.
"Lucy, turn into your human form..."
"Huh? Why?"
"Just do it."
I did as I was told and turned into my human form. I was about to speak when I felt a pair of warm lips against mine. The kiss wasn't rough or forced, but soft and sweet. My heart was all the way in my mouth and I felt as if I was in heaven. Was this really the Natsu I knew kissing me?
Natsu pulled away and smiled. "Do you feel better now?"
My face must have been scarlet red right now. "Uh- yea- I love you too...um...Natsu."
Natsu laughed at me and took a hold of my hand, dragging me along to our next quest.
