The Villain and the Hero

Based of the writing prompt above!

Summary: Natsu is a villain from a famous gang and Lucy is a hero. What will happen when these two meet when Lucy is at her weakest?

The heavy rain poured down upon the kind-hearted hero of Magnolia. Celestia was limping along the streets with no idea where to go. She had defeated one of the villains from the famous gang Fairy Tail, but at what cost? According to the hero agency, she wasn't supposed to get that person. That she was just wasting space in the jail cell, and ended up punishing her, and killing the gang member...even though they didn't hurt anyone...

"You must not go against our wishes. This is the 3rd time you've done it, Celestia..."

"Please, no!"

What was the point of being a hero if you couldn't stop a gang member that is trying to destroy the hero world? They should have thanked her, and just left the gang member in jail to rethink their actions, but no. The agency always had to do the extreme and the heroes always paid for their actions.

The rain kept getting heavier and heavier and Celestia kept getting weaker and weaker. "I'm not going to make it..." she said as she stumbled through the streets. She was about to give up when she heard a pair of boots walking towards her.

She weakly lifted her head up when she heard the person stop. It was her only hope right now. This person had to save her. They had to help her prevent anything like this ever happening again. So she gathered her strength and reached out towards the sound in front of her.

"I need help," she said, breathing hard as her knees gave up and fell into the mud. The person crouched down and looked at her and just smiled.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the famous Celestia, or should I say, Lucy?"

Lucy's breath hitched as her mind slowly processed who was standing in front of her right now. The only person that would know her actual name. The only person she had saved and told them her name. She was regretting it right now, but Lucy thought back to the time she saved him, and she didn't regret it anymore.

"Salamander. Fairy Tail's arsonist...Natsu Dragneel."

The villain smirked. "Oh? You know my whole name. You've done a good job investigating us." Natsu let out a cheeky laugh as he playfully poked her shoulder, but then stopped when Lucy took her mask off.

"Please, help me."

Natsu was in shock at the state of the hero. She was covered in blood and her eyes had been slashed. She had bruises all over and was in a lot of pain. The town's strongest hero was defenseless right in front of a well known villain and was showing weakness, but she was also begging for help. Natsu really didn't like to see the hero like this but she was the enemy. This could all be a trap.

"Why should I?" He said.

"Because I realized there's someone worse than Fairy Tail out there that I need to deal with. Contrary to what you might think, you aren't the worst person I've faced. And I..." Lucy trailed off, and looked back down at the floor.

Natsu tilted his head to the side.

"And you what?" There it was. The poor hero had run out of lies to tell.

"I- I...I" Lucy let out a choking sound and slumped forward.Crying. She was crying, Natsu noticed with wide eyes and held is breath. These weren't the tears of a liar. Lucy actually needed help, but he didn't know how to make her stop crying. Natsu leaned forward to get a closer look at the Lucy's face.

The cuts seemed shallow enough, but her eyes were completely covered in blood and she hadn't opened them once. Natsu felt his blood run cold. The reason why she was wandering the streets at this hour... Why she didn't know it was him...

"They blinded you?" He whispered.

Lucy nodded and broke down into tears again.

"After all the things I've done for them...all the fights, arrests, and saves...I- I just feel so, betrayed!"

Lucy continued to sob her heart out while Natsu just stared at her. Even though they were enemies something told Natsu that Lucy was fighting for the same reason as him.For a better future.

He could feel his blood boil at Lucy crying due to a betrayal. He clenched his fists and

"Last time I checked you didn't have a partner, so that must mean-"

"The agency...after I captured a member of Fairy Tail for a simple robbery...I was just going to take her to the station and let her go but...they got mad at me for not just killing her, so they killed her in front of me! And I couldn't do anything!"

Natsu simply stared at Lucy and then grabbed her arms. "Who was it?!"

Lucy choked on a sob and said, "A woman known as Bisca..."

Natsu scowled and made Lucy stand up again.

"Listen to me. I don't know if you'll accept this or not but this was not your fault! You don't deserve to be betrayed by your allies! Come with me and join Fairy Tail and help us remove the corrupt hero agency!"

Lucy sniffled and grabbed onto Natsu's arm as a guide. "Join Fairy Tail?"

Lucy thought about it for a bit. Natsu wasn't lying when he said the agency was corrupt. They abused their heroes and killed criminals for minor misdemeanors. This could be Lucy's chance to change the world and ensure the people's future and safety. Natsu was a kind person who was very loyal but was known to be a bit childish according to the current information Lucy had on him.

"We may have been enemies but I can tell you're a good person Lucy! I see you save people left and right, and when you arrest criminals you always treat them with kindness. You truly are the kind-hearted hero, and I'm sure that you'll fit right in at Fairy Tail."

Even though Lucy couldn't see, she could tell that Natsu was speaking from the heart. She smiled at Lucy and held his warm hand.

"I'll gladly join Fairy Tail, Natsu."

Natsu smiled and was grateful that Lucy couldn't see the blush creeping up his face.

"Welcome to the gang, Luce."
