Hunters POV
I woke up to several bright flashes. Not the best way to start my morning, but it'll do. I slowly and begrudgingly opened my eyes to see Gus in front of me holding a camera.
"Gus? What are you doing? What time is it?" I asked, quickly feeling heat next to me.
I shifted my gaze upon Willow, practically on top of me, sound asleep.
My face instantly flushed a bright red color as I quickly scrambled away. I would have loved to stay, but Gus was here, and it was quite embarrassing to be caught like that.
"Gus! What the ever-loving Titan are you doing!" I shouted as I shot up.
Gus just remained still, silently snickering.
"What are you laughing at! Gimme that camera!" I demanded as I lunged toward him, but he was quicker and managed to escape my grasp. I chased after him, not realizing he had left the camera, and not really caring.
From the corner of my eye, I noticed Willow shifting and slowly sitting up. I immediately adverted my gaze, as I shouldn't be showing any signs of emotional weakness.
That's when it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't have to suppress my emotions anymore, and last night's chat proved so much so. I gratefully glanced over to Willow. She would never know how much that meant to me.
I noticed Camilla making some sort of flat food and waltzed over. For some reason, it looked like everyone was in a good mood. I didn't understand. We just left out home and you're acting all jolly? I'm usually not one to pry, but this intrigued me.
"Good morning, Ms. Noceda." I spoke groggily yet formally to the best of my current ability.
"Oh please Hunter, please just call me Camila. And good morning to you too." Camilla replied while flipping- what was it that Luz called it- a pancake?
"Yes ma'am." I replied curtly while taking a seat.
Holy Titan, I just realized how actually starving I was. I hadn't eaten in a few days, due to the recent events, and felt as if I was withering away.
As I gazed around, I saw everyone seated at the table, chatting, except for Willow.
Speak of the angel, (get it cause like- nvm) she glided over and took a seat next to me. I quickly evaded her gaze, still quite embarrassed from this morning, when I noticed Gus smirking smugly while looking between us. I shot him a glare and glanced away.
"Eat up kids, I have some chores to do." Camila announced with a sigh as she walked off.
I quickly grabbed a plate and one of the pancakes as the others did. I looked around and noticed them all eating and saying how good it was, so I assumed it wasn't poisoned or anything. Not that Ms. Camila would poison it. You can never be too cautious.
"You're awfully quiet this morning." Willow noted while turning to me, away from the chatter.
"Oh- uh- I am? Well sorry I'm just tired." I replied while looking anywhere but her face, still quite embarrassed.
"Hey, it's nothing to apologize for! Take time for yourself, you deserve it." Willow responded while softly smiling.
I felt my cheeks heat up and Gus giggle. I had no idea what was happening to me. I never acted this way at the castle! Why is it all the sudden happening in the Human Realm! Maybe it's just an affect. I'll ask Luz about it after breakfast.
