(sorry man I haven't felt like writing. Just got that 9 pm boost ya know.)
Third Person POV
They both made their ways to the couch and sat down. Willow intrigued but not wanting to upset him, and Hunter terrified. He tried his best to form a coherent sentence, but only stammered nonsense. Willow made her best attempt at comforting him and pulled him close.
"I'm so sorry I just dragged you into my problems Willow, I-" Hunter said before getting cut off by a stern looking Willow.
"Hunter, I truly am concerned for you and feel that you should have someone to openly confide in. You shouldn't have to hold all of this in." Willow muttered while placing her hands on his.
Hunter sighed a soft smile and began his story.
Several Years Ago
"Sir, we need to leave this cave soon. It looks to be on the edge of collapsing." A coven scout whispered, attempting to not alert others."Nonsense! We must get the titans blood, we, I, can't fail again." Hunter spat while walking ahead.
A sudden shaking could be felt from the ground, rattling the cave.
"Sir, we really need to go-"
"I understand that now!" Hunter said urgently while guiding everyone out of the cave as quick as he could.
The rumbling intensifies, causing many scouts, and Hunter, to fall to the cold, stone floor.
As many made their ways out, several were slowed. Before the rest could even attempt to escape, the cave fell in, trapping many inside.
Hunter thought he had died. All he felt around him was pressure and sharp edges.
He soon regained his strength and pushed his way through the rocks, cutting his hands badly.
He dashed over to the others as quick as he could. He dug through the stones without thinking about himself at all. All he wanted was for these guards to be able to return to their loving homes, something he didn't have. At that moment, he didn't believe in any god. If there truly was one, why would this disaster happen to these innocent people?
Oh.
He remembered this was his fault. He had caused this catastrophe.
After digging for what had seemed like an eternity, Hunter heard a slight whimper and picked up his pace. He uncovered many unconscious, dead, or scarred people.
At this point, Hunter had begun breaking down again and was unsure how to continue. There wasn't much left to the story, though, so he ended it there.
"I'm so sorry for ranting Willow- I must seem pathetic." Hunter mumbled through slow falling tears.
Willow grasped his hands tighter and and shook her head just before saying, "Hunter, you're one of the bravest and most persevering people I know. I think- no, I know that those scars are nothing but evidence of you being a hero. Those scars make you, you. And I love your you."
Hunter gazed into her eyes and felt something he hadn't felt for a long time. He felt welcome, at peace, and safe. I could look into her eyes forever, if it meant he felt this euphoria.
He replayed her words in his head while Willow and himself quickly realized what she said.
"Oh- I- uh- I didn't mean it like that-, not that I don't love you- I mean!-" Willow stammered while flushing a shade of rose.
"It's perfectly fine Willow, thank you for understanding. You're the first I've ever really opened up to about this." Hunter spoke while begrudgingly removing his hands from Willows. Immediately after this action, he felt colder than usual and wanted nothing more than her touch.
"We really need to go back to bed, especially you." Willow peeped as quietly as she could, again realizing it was the middle of the night.
"I think I'll crash here. I'm gonna put something on the uh, tuh-tv, I think it's called." Hunter added while grabbing the remote.
"I'll stay here as well, if you don't mind." Willow announced as she sunk back into her spot on the couch. She felt a strange attachment to him, like she needed to be with him right then.
Hunter turned on a random channel and put his arm around Willows without thinking. He was out like a light.
Willows POV
Why did it suddenly get so hot.. Whatever. I should just try to get some rest.
I can't believe Hunters arm is around my shoulder! Didn't we hold hands earlier? Did he blush? Did I?
Why am I thinking these things! Stupid inner conscious. Just shut up and go to bed.
You could've kissed him.
OKAY GOOD NIGHT SELF!
I shut my eyes, quickly trying to avoid the intrusive thoughts, and quickly realized how I tired I was.
"Good night, Hunter." Willow whispered while sinking into his hold.
I'm glad he's getting rest, he needs it.
Third person (sorry for all the changes)
Willow was quickly asleep. The two were cuddled on the couch, faces inches away.
As friends, of course.
