Inspired in the song Killing Me Softly With His Song by The Fugees
3rd POV:There she stood, in the middle of the rain. With heart in hand, she let out a quiet sob. Heartbroken and defeated, she made her way back to her apartment. How could he? After everything they had gone through? "I can't believe I actually granted him a second chance. He's such a fucking imbecile." She cried as she slid down the door of her house.
"Perhaps it's my fault too. I let you crumble me, humiliate me and play me. All because I was too blinded to see how much of a piece of shit you truly are." She continued to sob. Maybe she let it happen, but it was certainly not her fault. Some people just know how to value what they have.
Completely engulfed in the embrace of sorrow, her ringing phone was dismissed of her attention. That was until it rang once more. Checking the contact first, she made sure it was someone who could actually help her.
"Hello?" She asked in a croak voice as she wiped her tears. "He did it again, right?" He spoke from the other side of the line. "Ji-" "No. He's a piece of shit. Wherever I see his ass, it's on sight. He's gonna pay for hurting you. I let it slide once, but twice is far too much." He interrupted in pure rage.
"Jimin, it was my fault. I let him slide." She spoke. "Bullshit. That bastard it the one to blame. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I'm not sorry for what I will do when I see his ass." He spoke. "Jimin, I don't have bail money." She spoke. Earning a chuckle from him, he replied. "Oh honey, I wouldn't worry about bail money. Have you seen the prices of caskets these days? Those things are pricey." He spoke with a 'tsk' sound at the end. "Jimin!" She finally laughed.
"Lucky him, I love to do charity work. I don't think his broke ass could afford one." He spoke in a sassy tone. "You're so stupid." She spoke as she continued laughing. "Anyways bunny cakes, wanna go grab a drink or two?" He insinuated. "Depends." She spoke as she got up and walked to her bathroom.
"It's on me, you know that. I'm inviting you because Sparks hired a guy who plays guitar and he's kinda your type." He said. Although she couldn't see him, she could hear the teasing smile in his voice.
"No, you cocky bitch. Don't even start." She said with an eye roll. "Who knows maybe the new guitar boy will give you answers." He said with a suggestive tone. "Jimin Park, you suggest I sleep with that man once more and I will drive to your place and kick your ass." She said with yet another laugh. "Sleep? I was talking about talking with him, you hormonal ass bitch." This time it was his turn to laugh.
"Oh please. Well, anyways, at what time are you picking me up?" She spoke as she undressed. "It's still early. Maybe like at nine?" He proposed. "Bet. See you then." She bid him goodbye and proceeded to shower.
All along, her mind kept falling back to her friend's words. Plays guitar and is kinda my type? Oh, Jimin had done it. Curiosity bubbled through her. Was she really listening to her friend? 'Guess she was.
After finishing her shower, she proceeded to her outfit. What could she wear? Nothing flashy, surely. Her mood settled her on a pair of washed-out black jeans with a Nas t-shirt. Taking her panda-colored Air Force's with her, she walked towards the living room and turned the tv on.
Was she in the mood to go out? Not exactly, but she could never say no to her friend when he requested her company. After all, what was a drink or two? Thinking no more about it, she put on her shoes and proceeded to arrange her home before she left.
She mopped the floors and cleaned her counter tops, making sure her home didn't reflect her sadness. After making sure she cleaned up every particle of dust, she rang up the imbecile she once called boyfriend.
"Hi baby. Wh-" "Shut the fuck up and listen to me, you twat. Your things will be on the corridor of the apartment complex. You have ten minutes to come get your shit before I burn it. Bomb's ticking." She said before hanging up. Her phone rang again, and without bothering to look at the contact, she answered.
"The fuck do you want, you lame excuse of a man?" She angrily ranted. "Damn, calm your ass down. I'm just calling to see if you were still up for later." Jimin spoke. "Oh shit. Sorry." She said as she rubbed her forehead. "What the fuck did he do now?" He asked. "Nothing. I called him so he could come get his things before I burn them. He has five minutes. Care to join me?" She offered as she opened a can of soda.
"Oh, I would so love to. Be there in a few." He spoke with a grin prominent in his tone. She laughed at his urgency and nodded. This man would surely get her in big trouble one day. Moving that moment aside, she played some tunes to get her in a better spirit.
Dancing to the sound of the music, she failed to notice the slightly taller male standing by the door watching her with a smile on his face. "Holy shit! Do you not know how to knock?" She said as she smacked his arm repeatedly. "I did knock, you idiot. You didn't hear me cause you're too busy dancing." He said smacking the back of her head.
"How'd you arrive so quickly though?" She asked as she lowered the volume before they sat. "I was nearby. I had to check up on Vivi before I came here. Dude's been working hard." He said with a nod. Before you could ask for your other friend, the doorbell rang once again.
Naomi's POV:
"You didn't bring Vivi, did you?" I asked. He didn't respond, but instead got up and headed to the door. Reminiscing his words over the phone, I realized what was going on. "No! Jimin wai-" Too late. A blow was sent to the face of who was once my lover.
"You meaningless piece of shit. How dare you cheat on a woman like her? I should've kicked your ass the first time. Lame excuse of a man is what you are, loathful rat." Jimin ranted as he pounded on the man with a force I had never seen him use. The venom with which his words were laced, dripping from his mouth and collapsing onto the man's face in the form of punches.
"Jimin! Get off of him. He isn't worth it." I said as she tugged on my best friend. "Take your shit. We have better things to do." He said as he got up and kicked the box full of things. Not waiting for a reply, we walked inside the house and looked at each other.
Laughing, we both nodded and sighed. "What time is it?" He asked. "Eight thirty." I said as I grabbed my wallet and phone. "Let's go." He said before taking his keys from the coffee table. I followed close behind and exited before fully locking the door.
To no one's surprise, the beat man was still outside. "Keys." I demanded as I extended a hand out to him. It wasn't for him. It was for the house keys. "Nao-" "Keys." I demanded in a razor-sharp tone. Defeated, he handed me the keys. I put them in my pocket and fled the scene with my partner in crime.
"Sparks will be a bit lonely today." Jimin spoke. "Why so?" I asked. "Candy Apples added new dancers, according to Koo." He said with a playful smile as he held his hands up in surrender. "According to Koo. Yeah, fucking right." I replied with a laugh. "Can you blame me? They're so pretty. Like, dead ass pretty." He spoke as he drove.
"They always hire pretty girls." I spoke. "Yeah, that's why they offered you a job there." He teased with a smile. "Shut it, Park. I would love to dance, but I'm built like a Volkswagen Beatle." I said, causing both of us to laugh. "No, but you really are pretty. Shame on those who can't see it." He said with his gentle smile.
"What can I say. Two pretty best friends heading to the bar." I said as I flipped my hair. "Damn right. Two pretty hot besties." He spoke as we arrived. We got out of the car and entered the bar. It was actually pretty lonely compared to other days. The less, the better.
"What can I get you?" The bartender asked. "Strawberry Mojito please." I ordered. "Bourbon on the rocks." Jimin requested. "Coming up." The bartender replied before getting to work. Jimin turned to me with a smile before he nodded towards the mini stage. There sat a slim figure, playing guitar, singing softly into the mic. If you looked closely, you could see his feline-like eyes fully burning with passion and concentration to his performance.
"Told you you'd like him." Jimin said as he handed me my drink. "He's alright." I said as we headed to a table closer to the stage. "Mhm. Say that to the pool of drool." He teased before sipping is own drinking. "Fuck off." I rolled my eyes with a laugh.
"This is a little something I wrote a while back. I hope you all enjoy. This piece is titled Seesaw." A deep voice called. He speaks like that on a daily basis? God has really blessed whoever calls him their lover.
"It was a fun start. Up and down by itself
All of a sudden, we're tired of each other. Meaningless emotional exhaustion." He began to sing. The moment I understood what he was singing, I turned my whole body towards him. The universe is magical. I knew it was mere coincidence, but what the fuck?
"Was a petty quarrel the beginning? The moment I became heavier than you. Because parallels never existed in the first place. Moreover, was he greedy and tried to fit it? It was love, and that's what the word love is all about. Is it really necessary to repeat it? We're tired of each other, and we seem to be holding the same cards. Then what?" Fuck. Somehow, the tears welled up in my eyes and I forced myself to blink them away. No fucking way I was going to cry over some asshat when a man like him was in front of my eyes.
"All right. Repeated seesaw games, I'm just about to put an end to it. All right, boring seesaw game..." As his song went on, I couldn't help but ponder, could Jae and I have worked things out once again? Was it even worth to try? Who got off the seesaw first?
Disrupting my trip, the room began to clap. I shook my head and clapped as well. "Thank you very much. Enjoy the rest of your night. This was Suga Min." He said before he bowed, and the room cheered once more. He walked down the stairs and put his guitar into his case.
"Go talk to him." Jimin said. "What?" I questioned as I took my eyes of the dark-haired man. "You obviously find him rather amusing? Yes, amusing is the word. Go on. I'll be here, if anything." He smiled encouragingly. I got up to leave, but before I left, I made sure to thank Jimin.
"Thanks Mimi. I mean it." I said as I hugged him. "Whatever for?" He asked, a smile evident in his tone. "For everything. You've always been there." I spoke. "You're drunk off a mojito?" He joked as he pulled back to check on me. "Fuck you." I laughed lightly. "I love you too, Mimi." He laughed as he hugged me a bit tighter and placed his chin on top of my head.
"Now, go see if he's the one." Jimin spoke with a smile as he wiped my tears. "You'll wait for me, right?" I asked for confirmation. "Sure." He nodded. I smiled at him and made my way towards the seat next to performer, who was now found seated at the bar sipping on what appeared to be whiskey.
I looked back at Jimin, and he smiled. "You got this." He mouthed. I sighed and went forward. "Is this seat taken?" I asked. "Not at all. Do sit." He invited with a light smile. It felt like he was talking for ages, as I was too caught up on his sharp eyes.
"Thank you." I said as I sat down. "What can I get you?" He asked. "I was gonna ask you that." I confessed with a soft laugh. "Is that so?" He asked with a perked brow. "You were good on stage." I replied. "Just good?" He asked. Somehow, his tone made me feel so small and brittle, as if I could crumble to the ground any second.
"You were amazing. I liked your last song." I spoke as I adverted my gaze elsewhere. "Glad you liked it." He said as he waved the bartender over. "What can I get you?" He asked the musician. "What would you like?" He asked as he turned to me. "Oh.. um.. Gin on the rocks is fine." I spoke. "Coming right up." The bartender spoke. I thanked him and turned to the whiskey-drinking man.
"What can I do for you?" He asked as he looked at me from his rear view. "Maybe give me your name." I suggested. "What for?" He asked as he stirred his glass. "Thank you." I said as I took my drink.
"To know who to thank for the drink." I added. "Suga." He simply replied. "Alright. Thanks Suga. If that's even your name." I muttered the last part. I paid for my drink and got up to leave, but a grip on my wrist stopped me.
"Min Yoongi. Yoongi Min. Either one works for me." He said with a teasing smile. "Nice meeting you, Yoongi." I spoke as I tried to free myself. "What's your name? I never got one." He questioned. "Bunny cakes." I sarcastically replied.
"Pretty girl with an attitude. I like that." He said as he motioned for me to sit. Reluctantly, I obeyed and sipped my drink. "Why should I give you my name?" I tested him. Play your cards right, Naomi. He eyed me up and down, a simple action that set me on fire.
"To know who's digits I'll be asking for." He replied with a playful tone. "You like to play with fire, right?" I asked with a nod. "Maybe just off the whiskey." He suggested with a shrug. "My name's Naomi." I finally confessed. "Naomi. Pretty name for a pretty girl." He spoke as he turned his body to me.
"I like your shirt. You listen to Nas?" He asked. "Yeah. Grew up on his music." I commented. "What's your favorite song?" He said looking at me as if to say 'Alright. Imma test you.' "Street Dreams, probably." I said. "Thought you'd say something like N.Y. State of Mind or something of that kind." He said with a small chuckle.
"I like it, but it's not my favorite." I replied. "I take it you listen to Pac and all that good stuff?" He asked with a smile. "Mhm. I'm an all-rounder." I replied. "You do any music?" He asked. "I do a bit of everything and if I don't know how to, I learn within a day or two." I spoke proudly.
"Interesting. Very interesting." He said as he leaned in. "Perhaps we can go out some other day?" He proposed with a sweet smile. "Depends." I joked. "I promise I'm usually not this much of a dick. I meant it when I said it was off the whiskey." He laughed.
"I thought you were delightful, though." I replied with a teasing smile. "Then I'll manage." He replied with a playful smile of his own. Lord, his deep voice is so much more angelical from up close. "Write 'em down." I spoke. He smirked and pulled out his phone. I gave him my number and finished my drink beside him.
"It's getting pretty late. Do you need me to take you home?" He asked as he put his phone away. "I came with a friend, so that'll be a no." I said as I looked in Jimin's way. To no one's surprise, he was already looking our way with a big proud smile.
"So Blondie's your friend too?" Yoongi asked with a chuckle. "Too? Do you know him?" I asked with a laugh. "Yeah. We've known each other for five years now." He replied. "That sly rat." I whispered. Yoongi chuckled at my statement and waved Jimin over.
"I thought you were his girl." Yoongi confessed. "Never." I said, causing both of us to laugh. "I see you've met each- Jeez! Calm down woman. I just felt like you two would be perfect for each other." Jimin said as I smacked his arm repeatedly.
"Well, Goldie locks, there's a high chance your dumbass plan just might work." Yoongi voiced out as he smiled my way. "Thanks, stupid." I said in Jimin's way. "I think you meant Cupid." He sassily replied. "Just shut up." Yoongi said before he finished his whiskey wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"Take us home." Yoongi said. Jimin looked at me with a surprised look and I had no other choice but to smack his head. "Don't get ideas, Park." I said as we walked out. "Not yet." He teased.
"Let her be." Yoongi stood up. "Awe. Your boyfriend's defending you." Jimin said as we walked through the parking lot. "Don't push it, Park. You owe me for tricking me." I replied. "Tricking you? In what way, delusional lady?" He said walking backwards.
"Had you told me about Yoongi way before, Jae and I would've never happened." I spoke. Stupidly enough, I hadn't realized what I had said. Not until Yoongi looked at me with an amused smile. "You sound confident about locking me up." He spoke.
"Did I not?" I pushed. "Maybe." He teased. "I call it for being your kids godfather." Jimin intervened. Yoongi and I blushed and chased after him. "Dumbass." We both laughed as he got into his car.
A silence fell in between both of us, and we just faced elsewhere. "So," Yoongi spoke. "Will I see you around more often?" He asked as he played with one of my rings. It was only then, I realized his hands were truly a sight to be contemplated. I returned the gesture and played with a ring of his own.
"Do you want to?" I asked never looking up. Not until his index finger forced me to do so. His face a mere inch away from mine. His hot liquory breath fanning my lips. "Thought that was obvious." His voice dropped an octave, making me delirious.
"Then I guess you've spoken." I said with a little smile. Was I in a romance sitcom? Because if this is what main characters in love felt like, I never want it to stop. "Five thirty tomorrow." He spoke. "Don't be late." He added before leaving a kiss on the corner of my mouth.
Tugging lightly on my ring finger as he pulled away, he removed my ring and gave it a small peck. "For good luck." He whispered. I took his too and did the same. "I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked once more. "I wouldn't miss it." I whispered. He emitted a deep chuckle and let go of my hand, but not my face.
"Ring me when you get home, yeah?" He requested in a husky voice. "Yes." I uttered out. "Good." He said before planting a peck correctly this time. Slowly moving apart, my eyes fluttered open and found him smiling at me.
"Is it still the whiskey?" I asked. "No. It's those pretty eyes of yours." He spoke with a smile. "Yoo-hoo~ Lovebirds~ We all got work tomorrow." Jimin said as he rolled the window down. Yoongi grabbed a pebble from the ground and threw it at him. I laughed at this and nodded.
"Goodnight, Naomi." Yoongi teased. "Dream of me, yeah?" I whispered. "Oh, I will." He spoke as he walked backwards towards his car. I might've rolled my eyes, but the whipped schoolgirl smile remained. He waved one last time and walked towards his car. I entered the passenger seat and tried his ring on.
"He really fucking likes you. Like, deadass wants to be your boyfriend." Jimin said as we drove off. "Maybe." I said. "Maybe? He gave you his favorite and most precious ring's. He wants to be with you. Yoongi doesn't just kiss anyone. I don't think I've ever seen him like that since I've met him." Jimin spoke with a proud smile.
"He's the one." I spoke. "Sparks and butterflies?" Jimin questioned. "Sparks and warmth." I spoke as I closed my eyes and drifted off.
It'll be what it's supposed to be.
