Music For The Chapter: Freaking Me Out by Ava Max
The beauty of Narmada was aesthetic. The sun setting over the river was one of the sights I could see for hours. Back at home, Adi and I would sit by the banks of the Ganga and watch the sun setting over the river. As if the sun too was taking a holy bath in the river and rising as the moon again. The holy water absorbs all the heat and fire that scorches even the sun and turns him into the cooling moon.
I sat there on the banks for a moment just wondering after having finished my evening rituals while Omkara was performing his rituals.
"Seriously, Sona, you need to correct yourself about Omkara. You clearly have feelings for him. He surely has feelings for you which are clear seeing how he even fought with Akshay for you." Harsh commented.
"But why did they fight in the first place? What happened?" I asked Harsh.
Harsh thought for a moment. "It isn't my story to explain. It is between Omkara and Akshay and we should let one of them tell you instead of me."
"But they're best friends. They have always been close."
"Shunda and Nishunda too were two twin brothers who were close to each other. Such that they even asked for a boon that only they could kill each other. It took one Tilottama to break them."
"Okay, I know for sure that I'm not within any kind of love triangle. I hardly even meet Akshay."
Harsh laughed. "Hindi movies have ruined our brains making us think that if two boys fight over a girl, it is that both of them have the same kind of feelings for her."
"So, Akshay doesn't approve of me. Is it that? But why? We've never even spent time concluding."
"Just ask Omkara about it."
When the sunset was done and we sat to have some food before we get to work, I decided to confront Omkara about it.
But that's when there was loud barking. Omkara turned around, a bit confused.
Behind the sound, I saw a dog running straight toward Omkara. At first, it looked like a normal dog but then just like how an x-ray sees through the mass of muscle and fat revealing the bone, I saw through the layers of Maya to reveal a shocking sight.
A hellhound. A hellhound was running towards Omkara.
"Am I dreaming or do you too see Rudraksha?" Omkara asked me.
"If you're talking about the hound belonging to Naraka, then yes, I see it too."
Omkara had no time to put his milkshake aside because the hound jumped over Omkara, making the 6-foot man fall and spill all the milkshake. The dog barked excitedly.
"Rudra…" I heard a familiar voice. Adi. I could recognize the voice even in my sleep.
Omkara exclaimed and groaned when he hit the ground, "Narayana!!!". The hound excitedly tapped its paws on the ground, sometimes over Omkara's chest. "Yes, yes, I'm happy to see you too, silly hound, but at least let me sit up." He laughed at the hound being so excited.
