Y/n's P.O.V
3 Months Ago ~
"Yo Y/n what's your dream travel destination?" Matt asked me.
"Greenland." I answered. "I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis."
I look up from my phone to see Matt walking towards me.
"Why?" I added.
"I just wanted to make sure I got it right." Matt says as he hands me two slips of paper.
I raised an eyebrow at him as I look at the papers to see that they are two plane tickets to Greenland.
"Shut the fuck up!!" I scream and I jump up and down. "Are you serious?!"
He just smiles at me. I start to cry tears of joy as I jump into his arms.
Present Day ~
I stare out the window as we start to land. It was quite difficult to contain my excitement. Matt has held my hand the whole flight as he knows how scared I am of flying.
"You excited?" He asked me.
"Yes." I said with the biggest smile on my face.
A few of our friends have joined us on this trip. Chris, Nate, Johnny, Nick, Beth, Cassie, and Madi.
As soon as the plane lands, I breath in relief. Just so happy to survive another plane ride. I don't care what anyone says. Flying in scary.
Despite my fear of flying, a smile hasn't left my face. One of my biggest dreams is coming true.
I can barely hold my excitement as we walk through the airport. We grab our bags and head for the front grate.
"I need a nap." Matt says.
"We can go and check into the hotel then once we're all well rested, we can get ready for tonight." I tell him.
"Sounds like a plan." Matt says holding my hand.
~ At The Hotel
I flop down on the bed, taking in all the comfort in which it gives. Matt stumbles through the door carrying both our bags.
Once he finally gets in, he flops down on the other bed.
"You know you could've help me just a little." He exhales.
"I could've buuuutttt... I didn't." I smile at him.
He giggled getting off the bed and walking over to the one I was laying on. He flops down on top of me, snuggling into me. I started to run my fingers through his hair when I notice him sweating.
"You're sweating." I said looking down at him. "Was my bag really that heavy?"
"No." He said.
"Phew. Okay. For a second there I thought I would have to feel bad." I smile.
He looks up at me, shaking his head back and forth.
"Asshole." He says laying his head back down.
He just giggles before dozing off for a little. I refuse to fall sleep. I'm way too excited to see the lights tonight.
I decide to pass the time scrolling aimlessly on my phone. It really did pass the time cause it wasn't no time later when it was time to get ready.
I've been debating back and forth on how I want to wake Matt up. And I've decided I'm going to wake him up in a gentle sweet way.
I start playing with his hair and speaking to him softly.
"Matt it's time to get up." I said.
"Mmm." He groans.
"Please." I asked.
He nozzles his face deeper into my chest.
"Come on. We're going to miss the lights." I tell him, lightly rubbing his exposed arms.
"Okay." Matt rolls off me and rolls off the bed.
"Are you okay?" I asked holding back my laughter.
"Yeah." He states getting off the floor.
He smiles and pulls me off the bed. He gives me a quick kiss and we both start getting ready. Since it's freezing, I decide to layer a little so I don't freeze to death.
"The others are ready to go." Matt informs me.
"Okay." I said putting my beanie, making sure to cover my ears since I'm prone to ear infections.
Excitement starts to fill my body as my dream is about to come true. I've dreamed about seeing the Aurora Borealis since I was 6. I start jumping up and down with joy.
Matt looks over at me and smiles while shaking his head.
"Lets go." I said with a giant smile. "I'm sorry. I'm just excited."
"Don't apologize. I love seeing you so excited." Matt says holding my hand.
~ Time Skip
I look up at the sky and get lost in the once in a lifetime experience. Of course I can always come back and see it again but I know it will never be as magical as the first time.
I don't even care that I can't feel my fingers or toes from the cold. I cover my big dorky ass smile looking around at everyone admiring the scene.
My eyes land on Matt and my heart explodes knowing he remembered what my biggest dream was.
I run as quickly as I could, and hug him from behind.
"Woah. Hey there pretty girl." He says looking down at me.
"Thank you so much." I whisper, making sure I don't disturb everyone else's peace.
"For what?" He smiles turning his body so that we're face to face.
"Making one of my dreams come true." I said softly.
"One of them?" He says raising a eyebrow. "Wanna share the other ones?"
"Maybe once I can feel my toes." I said getting him to laugh.
