New Dawn

Once upon a time in Africa. There lived a very beautiful girl, but she had a very rare condition. She was blind during the day but could see during the night but only if the was a moon. People in her village believed that her family was cursed and black magic was performed to cause her condition. Due to her condition her parents named her Moon Walker.The spell was going to be broken if she were to fall in love at first sight.

When the was no moon that meant she was bound to stay in doors. Moon Walker had the beauty of a goddess and she was a very hard working girl. Those who had a laid their eyes on her, they would praise the level of her beauty. Boys in her village and surrounding villages, wanted to see this mysterious girl they have heard so much about. During the summer season Moon Walker would work tirelessly on her father's fields.

By the morning villagers would not believe their eyes as they witness the part she has done on her father's fields. Her father was very proud of his daughter even with her disability she didn't let it get in her way, of fulfilling her duties as a girl and the fact that she didn't feel sorry for her self. Moon Walker would do every single chore that an African girl do during the day but for her it was little different.She would go and draw water from the river and go to the forest to get fire woods.

One day a prince form the west called Mateo and his troops were heading to war and he saw Moon Walker. He vowed comes hell or high water, that he was going to marry her. He didn't even know about her condition but he was taken by the beautiful and hard working ghost. To his mind he thought maybe she was a servent to some cruel master. How come such a beautiful person would be working at this hour.

Seasons pasted but Prince Mateo, all he could ever think about was the girl he saw and that gave him strength to continue fighting. So he could finally meet this young beautiful lady.

Winter time came and Moon Walker felt like her soul was caged. She didn't have much to do and sleeping day and night was not in her cards . All she wanted to do was to perform her duties and to keep her self busy. One winter afternoon Moon Walker was on her way to the river little did she know that she was being followed.  On this faithful day two boys from her village wanted to see this mysterious girl that everyone seemed to be charmed by her.

Seemingly luck was on their side that day. They saw Moon Walker as she was making her way to the river and they followed her. They follow her and when they got to the river the saw her sitting on a very huge rock in the middle of the river. She was so beautiful,her feet were inside the running water and her dark beautiful skin was glowing through the moon light. She was flawless a beauty personified.

For moment Moses and khatimba though she was a mermaid. Her beauty was the kind that you could only hear in fairy tales and this was their fairy tale. Moses wanted to take a closer look at her but Khatimba was so scared this can't be real. How can someone be like this and how can God do such a thing of keeping this beauty away from the world.

Moses tried sneaking so that he could take a closer look at her but his footsteps were too loud as a result Moon Walker heard them. She got out of the water quickly and fast as a lightning.She was so scared and millions of thoughts were running in her mind. This was  her first seeing someone of her age and for that matter an opposite gender. May he wanted to hurt her. Oh  God  her parents have warned her about coming to the river and maybe this boy was one of the river creatures they have told her about . But why now?

Her big brown beautiful eyes they looked like they were going to pop anytime soon. As a result of how terrified she was.
It was quite clear to Moses that she was scared of him. He asked her not to be afraid of him but the lady was not interested. She run away from the river. She was wondering what was he doing at the river at that time of the night. If he was a human.

The young man was impressed and charmed by Moon Walker's looks. He wanted to know her better. He fell in love with her right there and then.

Weeks passed as Moon Walker was avo to go to the river. She didn't tell her parents about what took place a the river. She knew she was going to looked inside the house for the rest of her life. So she eventually did go to the river and she met with Moses.

The young man badly wanted to know her but she was nit interested. She was annoyed by this young man and the fact that she didn't really understand that was he human or what? But Moses was determined to get to know her. She basically told her to go to hell but it was like pouring water at the back of the duck

Moses decided to lay low for sometime and Moon was happy because she thought he finally let go. Moses followed her with out being noticed and it worked like magic but for only a short time. Moon later realized that she was being followed.
As the big girl she was she didn't let her parents know. Which she knew it was wrong but she decided to teach her stalker a lesson. Moses without realizing he fell right into the trap. When she realized that it was him she became so pisssed and left him there.

Moses was so embarrassed and angry at himself for falling for the trick.

After two days Moon Walker returned and got him out. He was hungry, dirty and embarrassed. No one said a word they went on their separate ways. After sometime Moses returned and asked for forgiveness to Moon for his behavior. He introduced himself properly. As for Moon she told him her name and left him standing there like a statue

Everymoon night Moses would go and try to win Moons heart and she was starting to like the attention she was getting from him. She didn't want to show it to him. Every time they met he would do the same thing again and again. After sometime she fell in love with the attention and the way she was making her feel.

They would sing and play together only when the was a moon. When the was no moon it would feel like a lifetime to them. Moses saw a future with Moon Walker. He decided to confess his feelings to his father. His father was furious and didn't even want to listen. He didn't want a blind daughter in-law. To him she was useless. Moses was heartbroken, how can his father be this cruel. Moon didn't ask for her condition. How can people be so cruel. He hated his father and he knew the was  no way of changing his mind. He restored to the only option he had.

That same day Prince Mateo was on his way back. He wanted to discuss this matter with the king. He truly admire Moon and he was willing to go on any length to be with her. Moses woke in the middle of the night and stole all his father's cow and run away. He wanted to build a life for him and later come back for Moon.

Moses's father was very angry, he was like a dragon breathing fire. He assumed that Moses run away with Moon Walker. To his surprise Moon didn't even know that Moses had run away from home. The was no moon that meant no movement for Moon Walker. She was heartbroken and she gave up on life because seemingly she didn't have a chance to happiness. That was what she thought.

Mateo had a word with the king and the king was delighted and sent his best man to deliver the massage to the Walker's family. Moons father was in disbelief and he went and informed the king about his daughter's condition. Even at that the prince still stood by his word.

The first time Moon laid her eyes on Mateo she fell in love with him and Mateo was already in love with her. They got married and lived happily ever after. As for Moon Walker she was able to see during the day and night. She was later named Alana.
