!TW SELE HARM READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

you didn't see hanma for a week or two. it did concern you. you has gone to his apartment multiple times for a sign from him but still nothing. you stopped thinking about him slowly. although hanma had been gone for a while another murder had happened. it was a boy directly downstairs from your apartment. police were just always in your apartment as were they for everyone else.

one day as the police was leaving one of them asked, "so. your neighbor. how long have they been gone?"

i shrugged "i'm not sure maybe about 2-3 weeks?"

the policeman nodded and stated, "make sure he pays his rent, landlord told me let him know his rent is due. but. they seem to be used to him paying late. anyways i'm off. i'm naoto by the way." the policeman said smiling softly

"alright. bye." i said playing with my nails as i watched him leave.

a couple of house later i jumped when i heard loud screaming from hanmas apartment and loud banging. i didn't want to just barge in his apartment out of nowhere. i grabbed my pocket knife and went to his apartment. i knocked but noticed the door was unlocked. i stepped in the eerie dark room which wreaked of cigarettes.

"hanma...?" i said looking around.

i heard heavy breathing coming from the bathroom. i stepped in the bathroom. my heart sank when i saw hanma on the ground. he had his hand over his heart as he was breathing heavily. he looked like he was crying.

"hey.. hey just breathe okay come on deep breathes" i said kneeling down next to him taking his hand.

he's breathing was starting to sound better. i got up and got a little bit of water in the palm of my hands from the sink and splashed his face lightly.

his breathing was normal, he looked at me with tired sad eyes. he didnt speak.

"hanma what's wrong? where have you been?" i said caressing his hand to make him feel better.

"...." he remained quiet

"i won't force you to speak. we can just sit in silence." i stated looking at the wall across from us.

i noticed he glanced over at me and sighed. "... i need help y/n."

"with what?" i asked

"i cant tell you.. truly i want to." he spoke calmly as tears began to pool his eyes.

"hey hey don't cry come on." i said hugging his gently pressing my cheek against his.

he just looked at me and spoke, "can i stay with you.. tonight?"

"of course! i have room at my place. i can order us some dinner too. anything ya need." i said smiling softly

he mumbled something but i couldn't understand what he said.

"what ya say?" i asked looking at him

"nothing.." he said.

i took his hand and helped him get up. he was limping sort of. "are you injured?" i asked looking at his legs then at his eyes.

he nodded yes.

"you poor thing." i said. i helped him get to my apartment as i laid him down on my couch. i got a pillow and a blanket to make him comfortable.

his hair was in his face as he had small scratches against his chin and cheek. he looked so tired but beautiful at the same time. i gently rolled his pants up to take a look at his legs and notice a terrible bruise on his left ankle.

i got a bandage and wrapped it while getting some ice for it. i got some cute bear bandaids and placed it on his cheek and chin.

"great. your all done. i don't know what you do but please be careful." i said before noticing something on his arms.

cuts.

my eyes widened before grabbing his wrist. "hanma.. why are you doing this? what's wrong?" i said looking at him. my heart was feeling heavier as i felt a lump in my throat.

"i..." before he could even speak he began sobbing before pulling me in a hug. "there's something wrong with me y/n i don't feel alive! i don't even know what i'm doing!" he yelled sobbing into my shoulder.

i rubbed his back gently rocking him lightly. "i know things can get hard, please don't hurt yourself shuji..." i muttered looking at him.

the way you said shuji calmed him down. it made him calm down. he was feeling something something in his heart for the first time.
