leaving and caught

Fuck fuck fuck fuck. That one word played in your mind over and over, you saw him watching you after your father left. Did he know you planed on leaving now? It would make sense especially if he heard the whole conversation. Then he would know you were leaving good thing you had already put the bags in the car.

"Come on Alex, get in the car."

"Yep, coming y/n!"

You slid into the driver seat and waited for Alex to be finished saying goodbye to one of our cousins. It didn't take long but you were in a rush. He hopped in the passenger seat and slammed the door shut.

"Hey be gentle this car is old.." You said in a joking manner.

"Pfft not even, its like only five years old."

You shook your head and pulled out of your parking space and into the road. Fuck fuck fuck.. You probably shouldn't be driving like this but you couldn't not think about things that weren't the road. Like the man, leaving your entire life behind, your memories as well.. But hey Alex would be safe now so it was all worth it. You wouldn't stop driving until you felt safe.. Which probably wouldn't be any time soon.. Or you'd pull over after Alex needed to.

You had been looking at a super small town far far away from your home town it looked perfect for you and Alex. it wasn't everyone knows each other small but it was word travels fast small, which would hopefully work in your favor. But it could also be used against you being as your mother and your best friend were murdered and you were probably the first suspect for both. Hopefully it would be overlooked and they probably wouldn't find out for awhile. But that could also work in your favor if you were a murder suspect people probably would try talking to you much..

"Y/n I need to use the bathroom.." Alex said quietly, he sounded tired to.. Two hours on the road.. No cars had been following you. You could pull over just for five minutes.

"Alright I'll stop at the next gas station."

"Thank you.." He said while rubbing his eyes.

You pulled into the small parking lot and hopped out of the car Alex doing the same.

As you opened the door you heard a small ringing it was a little store bell they were quite cute. You held the door open for Alex, when he got in he quickly looked around for the bathroom and so did you. You didn't really need to go but you would probably be on the road for a couple more hours after this so better be safe than sorry.

The bathrooms were one stallers so you had to wait for Alex to finish before you could go. Even if women's bathrooms were cleaner  you still used the men's, it was just more gender affirming.. As Alex came out of the bathroom you handed him about 15 dollars and told him to get some snacks and drinks for you both.

After doing your business and washing your hands you quickly checked yourself out in the mirror making sure you didn't look stupid. You didn't look odd but you sure looked tired.. Well whatever it doesn't matter. You heard the faint sound of the bell ringing. You slightly panicked and quickly made your way out of the bathroom. You looked around for Alex he was looking at the drinks right now.. He was still here and still fine.. Its okay, he's okay.

You looked around to see where and who the other person was. There wasn't even anyone there.. Just you, Alex and the cashier. Strange. Though it still made you panic a bit.

"What drink do you want?" You heard Alex ask.

"Oh, just a (f/d)." You voice sounded kinda shaky but Alex didn't seem to notice.

"Okay, let's go pay I got all the stuff." He said and made his way over to the till, you watched him as he put all the stuff on counter and pay for it all. You couldn't help but smile and think about when he was older.. And independent, he was pretty independent already he did most things by himself he never seemed to mind being alone. You felt your eyes water a bit.

"Come on." He said and grabbed onto your sleeve. He pulled you out of the store you couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Fuck you forgot you get a pack of smoke you were running low.

"Hey I need to get something real quick just put the stuff in the car." You weren't going to let him wait In the car by himself only an idiot would, especially in this situation.

You stared at the dashboard and quietly cried to yourself how could you let this happen.. You should've just let him kill you! None of this would've have happened blood may have not been on your hands but it was at your feet surrounding you.. Something wasn't right about this whole thing you've meet him more than once and any of those times he could have killed you.. Did he not want to kill you? 

You looked over to Alex's sleeping from.. You had just pulled into a hotel parking lot you couldn't bring yourself to wake him up he looked so peaceful.. Come on y/n just do it.

You shook his shoulder a bit. And he slowly opened his eyes. "Come on let's get'cha on a real bed, we don't want your neck hurtin' too much.." You said quietly, he nodded and you both got out of the car and headed into the building. It didn't take long to book and pay for the room.

You made your way down a long hallway, these types of hallways always made you uncomfortable. Probably becasue of the media they were in. You stared at the number on the door. It was the right one. 23. You unlocked the door and pushed it open. You gave Alex a little push and he almost immediately flopped down on the bed. Poor boy he was so tired.

Fuck you forgot the bags.. You weren't going to risk them getting stolen. You quickly made your way out of the room you locked the door. He shouldn't wake up for awhile he'll be fine..

You lugged the two bags into the room they were yours and Alex's night bags had your pj's and hygiene stuff. Pulling out a change of clothes and looking around in your bag for your toothbrush. You pulled it out along with your toothpaste and headed to the bathroom.

You sighed and finished changing, you put the baton in your pj's pocket. Taking a quick look in the mirror you sighed yet again, you dont know when all this will stop but hopefully soon..

You opened the door and gasped.
