I grab the older lady's body and lay her over my back to the village so that she could be properly put to rest. I arrive at my village and gently lay her on top of the group of dead bodies. One of Lexa's messengers inform me of my sister, and that she has been secretly interrogating 2 of the sky people for the past few days and that it was going well.I start to clean off a lady's face that had been pushed into the grimy, muddy ground during the massacre. I dip the piece of cloth into a warm bowl of water that rested on a chipped wooden desk. She was sitting on her bed, while I sit on an uncomfortable chair.
"I am sorry for what they did to you. And what you had to go through" I spoke gently to her not to spook her more than she already was.
she talked at a slow frantic pace "It is alright My Lady, you shouldn't worry yourself"
I continue to run the cloth over her face without being too rough with her sensitive skin. I look closer at her face while doing this and notice the light freckles on her nose and cheeks and her sea-foam green irises. Her tan skin from working in the gardens all day. The hook of her nose and her thin top lip, but the plump bottom. Her chiseled jawline and high cheekbones. She was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
I realize I must've been staring at her and look back down at my hands.
3rd Person POV*
There was a light blush on the girl's face that Reyna did not notice or see. The girl's heart was beating out of her chest. She couldn't steady her breathing when she noticed Reyna staring at her. Very closely.
She thought it was probably to get a closer look to make sure there was no injury. She was terrified that the princess would be able to hear her heart pounding against her chest and wonder if she were going into cardiac arrest.
She rushed out of her tent as soon as Reyna cleaned her face.
Reyna's POV*
I finally finish cleaning the mud and gunk off of her face, she thanks me and rushes out of her own tent.
Are people really that afraid of me? I don't understand. Well, I understand why, but I would never hurt my people.
I walk to my own tent and send one of my messengers to inform Lexa of the genocide of my people, hoping it will reach her soon so that I can have an actual conversation with her and not just random people talking for each of us while the other is over 100 miles away.
I walk into Nyko's tent, sit, and wait for him to show up.
Nyko and I are very close surprisingly. I can be myself around him, mostly, without feeling judged. He has made me smile more than my sister, which is sad if you really think about it.
I look around his tent, intrigued by all of the different colored vials. Some were filled with herbs, some liquid, and even some rock-looking things.
I'm about to pick one up when Nyko comes crashing in. I look up at him to see what his speed was needed for. He looked into my eyes with a look of surprise. I stand up and tell him I will be leaving soon so go back to Tondc. He doesn't say anything and just nods his head, signaling that he understands and agrees I should leave.
