Author's Note: how are you guys enjoying it so far? I'm struggling a bit with the character as I've never done a calmer OC because I usually base them around my personality: which is loud lol. So I'm struggling with trying not to make Niae too out of her character description. So right now she's the exasperated older sister. Am I doing ok?

It seemed like bad things always happened to those who associated with Jake Sully. He used to be a warrior on Earth, then he became one of the People. He became Toruk Makto and waged war against his own kind. His only flaw: his leniency.

He let the humans go back to Earth, as if unafraid they would come back. He started a family and moved on with his life. And it only took a split second for everything to change. His leniency became his downfall.

Niae couldn't tell you how she became a part of this predicament. Just this morning she was busy observing the world around her and watching a family of nantang sunbathing. And now, here she laid, with her siblings and the human boy, being held at gunpoint.

She could tell the man holding them at gunpoint, along with his group, were the Avatars that she heard so much about. These demons in false bodies. Their smell tainted her nose. They smelled too unnatural, too clinical-no individual scent that she could pick out, as though they were just copies made into different shapes.

But she could tell they were dangerous, so dangerous. She could hear Tuk whining and Kiri trying to calm her down. Once again she couldn't help but curse Lo'ak in her head. For coming here, for bringing their sister to this place, for not sensing the danger around them. And she cursed herself for flinging herself from Pa'it in an attempt to save them, only to be harshly grabbed by another. She had swung her knife, managing to injure the one holding her enough for him to let go-only to be tackled by 2 more and dragged by her very sensitive tswin.

She could see the exact moment of recognition the leader had when Lo'ak taunted him with his middle finger. Something Niae, herself, did not posses. Like her twin, she did not get any human traits from their father. Lucky Lo'ak to be the one to inherit their father's features-the only reminder of their father's alien past.

She wanted to bite, she wanted to teach these demons a lesson but she knew if she made one wrong move, her siblings could be hurt. And as the older sister, she couldn't allow herself to let that happen. No matter how skilled she considered herself, she knew these people would not hesitate to kill them. So she had to remain calm, keep a level head and make sure she and her siblings got out of this alive. Even if that meant surrendering her pride as a warrior of her clan.

So she grit her teeth and bore the pain. She could see the demon demanding her brother to show his hands and winced internally as he gave him a middle finger instead. The demon grinned as Lo'ak croaked out a hiss, the fake behind him holding his tswin harshly.

"Demon! My mother will kill you again. You may hide in our skin but you are cowards!" Niae hissed, baring her sharp fangs with narrowed eyes. The man's smile slipped off his face as he stalked up to her.

"Now look at this. Blonde hair and blue eyes-never seen that before with your race." Quaritch chuckled, as his group smirked, "Watch yourself, halfbreed."

"I am not scared of you! You can not face my father alone, hand-to-hand, like a true warrior. So you resort to bringing backup and trying to kidnap children. You are without honor, fake." Niae hissed again, this time spitting in his face. Quaritch hissed as it hit him between the eyes, sliding down his nose disgustingly. Niae couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for her actions, a wide smirk on her face. She grunted as the soldier holding on to her yanked her tswin in warning. With a dry sigh, Quaritch wiped the spittle from his face.

"I like your spirit, kid. Too bad you're on the wrong side of this war." Quaritch chuckled, as he turned and called for evacuation.

Niae was ready to rip his throat out, her neck tensing. Then, a sound from the bushes. Too similar to the sound of wildlife for the fakes to pick up on, but something any maybe could spot. Mom! Niae thought, her ears flicking to pick up the noise better. Around her, her siblings did the same-Spider turning to Lo'ak in question. Niae couldn't help but to feel smug, their mother was in the tree line and these fakes didn't even know it.

With a wet squelch, the fake holding Kiri fell, an arrow in its chest. Taking the chance of distraction, Niae swung her head back harshly. With a yell of pain, the demon behind her letting go of her. She swung her tail, tripping him, and stabbed him in the neck. Barely taking a second to breathe, she slit the throat of the one holding Tuk, grabbing her sister and running. She could see Lo'ak, Kiri and Spider running in the corner of her eye. Her only thought, to get her little sister to safety.

She only stopped when she ran full force into her father's chest, him wrapping her in his strong embrace.

"Dad." She panted, breaths harsh and chest vibrating with the force of her breathing.

"Is everyone ok?!" Jake asked, running his hands over his eldest and youngest daughters faces as he roamed his eyes quickly over the others.

"They took him! They took Spider." Kiri sobbed, her tail lashing. "We have to go back for him!"

"He's one of them! They won't hurt their own kind!" Niae hissed, upset with everything at that point. She couldn't wrap her head around Kiri's concern being more for Spider than her own family. He wasn't even family!

"You don't know that!" Kiri protested, baring her teeth. Niae bared her teeth back, ears pulled back and tail stiff.

"Girls! He'll be fine. Let's go home." Jake said firmly, causing the girls to roll eyes at each other and scoff.
