"What is she doing?"
Niae's ears flicked as she heard the taunts down the beach where Kiri was relaxing in the water. She looked up quickly, spotting Aonung and his stupid friends crowding Kiri. She stood quickly and paced down to them.
"Have no idea." One said, with a sneer.
"She just stares at the sand." Another hissed, wide tail slapping the air."Huh? What did you say?" Kiri asked, as she started to get up from the water. Sensing her sister's unease, Niae hurried her steps, practically flying down the beach.
"Are you some kind of freak?" Aonung taunted, as his cronies laughed at his unfunny joke. Kiri's ears flattened, obviously fed up with them disturbing her peace.
"He asked if you were a freak?" Another copied, ugly sneer on his face.
"No." Kiri sighed, as she began to walk away from them, not willing to make a deal of this.
"Are you sure? You are not a real na'vi." Aonung continued, not willing to be ignored, "Look at those hands. See." Kiri smacked his hands away as he reached for hers, eyes rolling.
"Hey, fish face." Lo'ak appeared, squaring his shoulders at them. Niae caging them in from the other side, her fangs bared at them.
"Another four-fingered freak." The group taunted. Niae hissed, her tail lashing.
"Look at his little baby tail." One boy in the group laughed as he grabbed Lo'ak's tail. Getting fed up, Niae smacked his hand away and squared up with him,"Leave my brother alone, kurkung!" A bit intimidated by her, the boy flinched back."Leave us alone!" Kiri protested, as the other boys shoved Lo'ak between them.
Fed up with the taunting of her siblings, Niae bucked at them, hair flinging wildly and fists clenched, "I'll rip your tongue from your mouth, ugly." The boy taunting her brother finches back at the threat, concern in his eyes.
"Hey, you heard what they said," Neteyam hissed, appearing beside her. "Back. Off. Now." Aonung stepped back, hands raised as he smirked arrogantly at them, "And from now on, you will respect my sisters."
Done with the conversation, the siblings started to walk away, Niae hissing at them once more as she walked past.
"Come on." Neteyam huffed, lightly guiding his twin away. She sighed as her tail whipped through the air harshly, showing her unhappiness.
"Bye!" The group crowed behind them, mockingly.
"They are freaks, the whole family." One boy said, causing Lo'ak to freeze and nod his head. With the swish, he turned around and started walking back to the group. Niae groaned, internally.
"Lo'ak..." Niae hissed, irritated at the whole situation. "Calm down bro." Neteyam agreed, sighing in exasperation as Lo'ak ignored both of them to walk up to the group taunting them.
"Yes, my hand is weird," Lo'ak nodded, "Alien. But it can do something cool." Lo'ak reached Aonung, using his other hand to press his fingers into a fist, the other boy watching in interest. Niae and Neteyam locked eyes already knowing the trouble coming."First I ball it really tight. And then..." With a quick snap of his arm, Lo'ak punched Aonung twice, knocking the boy down and causing his group to gape at him. Niae rolled her eyes in annoyance. He's always getting us in trouble!
"It's called a punch, bitch! Don't ever touch my sister again!" Lo'ak smirked, only for Aonung to leap to his feet with a hiss and tackle him. Neteyam scratched his head in defeat before running in to back him up.
"Stop it! This is so stupid!" Kiri groaned, her tail flicking. Next to her, Niae closed her eyes and prayed to the Great Mother for strength. She opened them to watch as Lo'ak got pulled by his tail as he was pulling another boy by the ears. Next to them Neteyam was punching another boy in the water.
"Ow, my tail!" Lo'ak cried as he was dragged.
"My ear! Let go! He has my ear!" The other boy cried as Kiri started laughing behind her hand. That all came to an end when Niae spotted their dad storming over, a grimace on his face.

"What did I specifically ask you to do?!" Jake fumed as Lo'ak, Neteyam and Niae stood in front of him. Niae holding in the urge to glare at Lo'ak for once again getting them in trouble with his temper. She grit her teeth as their father scowled at them, his brows furrowed in annoyance."To avoid making trouble." They all repeated as he waited for an answer.
"Ok-It was my fault." Neteyam spoke up, causing his twin to scoff. He had to learn to stop taking the blame for their brother.
" No! You gotta stop taking the heat for this knucklehead!" Jake hissed, fed up with his kids. He couldn't understand why Lo'ak went out of his way to make trouble, often dragging his elder siblings into his schemes."Ao'nung called Kiri a freak." Lo'ak groaned, firmly. Jake's ears flicked back as he glanced around before shaking his head.
"Go apologize to him. He is the chief's son," Jake hissed at Lo'ak, causing all three to look at him in disbelief, "I don't care how, as long as you make peace with him. Go! Dismissed." Lo'ak rolled his eyes and scowled as he stormed out. Niae and Neteyam stood in front of Jake in silence.
"Hey? What did the other guy look like?" Jake said causing Niae to roll her eyes. Their dad was so childish sometimes.
"Worse." Neteyam said, Jake's eyes lighting up in pride, "Much worse." Neteyam smirked seeing the pride in their father's eyes."Get out of here." Jake huffed. The twins turning on their heels and leaving, tails waving behind them.
