Unexpected

Chapter 25

I came back wearing a lapis wrap dress and a pair of lapis flats. I had dried and brushed my hair the best I could then handed the basket back to Aiden. "Thanks again Aiden, I don't know what I could have done without you," I said, out of breath. I was quite parched and my stomach was feeling empty. Then I suddenly realised something, "My bag! Aiden did you see my bag anywhere?" I said feeling around.

Aiden shook his head, "The only thing with you is this thing," he held up the case containing my map. I took it from him, at least the most important item was safe. "This is my map but my bag had my all my other essential items," Aiden scratched his chin thinking for a bit.                                    "I think I can replace some of that stuff for you!" he said, he cupped his mouth with his hands and called into the trees, "Hey Sylvie you there?!" we waited. A familiar glowing dot came out from behind a leaf, this time blue.

"Seriously Aiden keep it down!" Sylvie squeaked, "Oh my you must be Madam Water! I can feel the energy, Sylvie Elffire, Water Pixie," Sylvie settled on my shoulder, swinging her legs back and forth. "Sylvie, Annalise needs help getting some equipment, she lost most of it in the river," Aiden pointed to the water. Sylvie nodded, "Alright I can help but can you get my brother and sister, I might need some assistance!" Aiden called into the forest once again. "Ethan! Miya! Get out here!"

2 more Water Pixies came out, rubbing their eyes, "Have you lost your mind! Oh Madam Water, pleasure to meet you!" the male one squeaked, "Ethan and Miya Elffire at your service," Sylvie explained to them what happened. Ethan and Miya were willing to help and the 3 Water Pixies flew into the forest to search for my items.

While we were waiting I thought about the rest of our team. I hope they were alright. "Testing 1, 2, anyone there?!" came a familiar voice. I jumped up, "Who's there!" my heart was racing. "Annalise," Aiden said, looking stunned, "The only person here is me," I nodded and sat back down.

"Seriously guys don't scare me!" there it was again, "Anna? Seb?" it was Bri's voice. It suddenly clicked, my mark! Lucinda had told us it could be used to communicate. I looked down at my wrist, by now the mark was no longer red and had faded to a brown, it looked sort of like a birthmark. I pressed on it with my index finger, "Brigitta?!" I thought of the message in my head, hoping I'm doing this correctly. "Anna! Are you with Sebastian and Yamileth?"

"No we were split up, are you and Mateo okay?" I replied, happy that this was working.       "Mateo here, we're both fine, can't seem to get ahold of Sebastian though," Mateo replied.     "Oh my god it's just you guys," came Seb's voice in our heads, "I thought I was going insane and hearing your ghosts or something, Yamileth and I are alright. But what do we do now?"

It was silent for a bit, no one knew what the next step was. I spoke up, "For now let's try and get to the Water Colosseum where the gem is. We can all meet there, find a Water Pixie and ask for directions," I waited for replies. Everyone agreed, it was weird hearing so many voices in my head at once. "Well good luck everyone," I finished and took my finger off from the cursive E.
