I turned to Sebastian and flung myself onto him. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight I looked up and pecked him on the cheek. In turn he took my hand and pressed his lips on it. He gave me a soft smile which made my heart melt. Brigitta ran up next to me and linked our arms, "You look gorgeous Annalise! Your hair actually looks like water," she started playing with it, "Oh you dropped this by the way," she handed me an aqua blue, bucket bag which I didn't remember having before. Must have been part of the look the gem gave me.
I took it from Bri. When my fingers grazed her hand, my neck snapped backwards and everything went blurry for a second, the lights flashed blue around me. When I stopped seeing lights my head snapped back into place. I rubbed the sore area and saw that Brigitta was doing so as well. "What just happened," I said gingerly. Mateo went behind Bri and inspected her red neck. Sebastian did the same with me, rubbing my shoulders in comfort.
"Are you girls alright?" Mateo said, holding Bri close, "You guys had some sort of seizure," "Excuse me?" I replied looking back and forth at the brothers. "Yeah, we don't know what happened but Bri your eyes glowed a bright white and Anna, blue," Seb said, a look of concern on his face. I raised an eyebrow and slipped off my new bag and dug around. I once again located the book 'Stoll: The Past and Present' and flicked to chapter 10 titled, 'Elemantal Gems'.
"Annalise, sweetheart, what are you doing?" Seb asked, looking over my shoulder at the book. My eyes sped over the different paragraphs, "I remember reading something, just, hold on," I traced my finger over the words and eventually found it. "Here! It is known to everyone that the Elemental Gems can only be used by the Originals. But now that it is rumoured the elemental powers have been transferred to others, the Gems may be united once again. Based on studies by multiple researchers, if or when the Gems have been reunited with the Elementals, their powers would fuse together in order for the holders to be unstoppable," I read.
When I finished I looked up at the rest of the group. Brigitta was staring at her necklace with her best thinking face on, "So when our hands touched, the Gems fused, making our powers stronger. Interesting," she dropped her necklace. I closed the book a shoved it back inside my bag. I touched the Water Gem on my tiara, "Let's hope that when we get all the gems, we will be as unstoppable as everyone says we might be," I sighed and leaned into Sebastian who wrapped his arms gently around my front.
"Well, it's good to know we'll be breaking our necks when we get the last 2 gems," Mateo shrugged, "I guess the only thing to do now is set up camp," we were all hit by a sudden wave of fatigue and agreed that we needed to rest. Before we left I turned to Aiden, "Thanks for all your help today, Aiden," I gave him a warm smile. "It was no problem at all, but there is something I've been meaning to ask you, could I come along?" Aiden asked hopefully. I turned to everyone else and saw that everyone was nodding and grinning. I turned back to Aiden, "You can come with us if you like, your ice powers might just come in handy. Water and ice you know?" I giggled. Aiden was bouncing with excitement, he was going to confirm with his father and come back ready the next morning. We all bid Aiden and the Water Pixies farewell and set up camp near the waterfall.
