Nova walked to the car with Chishiya following closely behind. Nova sat inside and was immediately met with the stench of alcohol and sweat. 'Ew'
It was even worse when Nova had to squeeze in next to two people making out. She scrunched her nose up in disgust, trying to lean away from the pair as much as possible.
Chishiya got in shortly afterwards, watching Nova's reaction with amused eyes. Chishiya was basically stuck to the door from the disgusted girl next to him, he didn't mind the close proximity, but the door jabbing into his side wasn't comfortable.
Nova on the other hand, was trying her best to avoid the couple that was making out as if they were the only people in the world. She didn't even notice how close she was to Chishiya until she turned his direction and found his face only inches from her own.
"Do you want to just switch seats? This door isn't very comfortable jabbing into my sides" Chishiya deadpanned.
Nova nodded immediately, she was tired of trying her best to avoid the pair. She stood up halfway and tried to get over Chishiya as best as she could while he scooted under her to get to the other seat.
They both sat down, this time Chishiya was the one to scoot away as much as possible. Nova just accepted not having any space, as long as she didn't have to sit by the pair who were ruthlessly making out in the other seat.
As the game arena came into view, Nova made sure she had her guns and knife fastened in place, just in case.
She opened the door and rushed out of the car, not wanting to hear the sloppy noises coming from a specific seat in the car.
Chishiya rushed out as well, more eager to get out of the car than Nova had been. He caught up to Nova and they walked side by side to the game arena.
The game arena wasn't much special, it was a small cafe with now rotting plants accenting all sides of the building.
They stepped into the cafe one by one, finding three other players inside.
Nova grabbed a phone and stepped back to lean against the wall of the small cafe. She observed each player carefully.
She looked at each player, there was a girl with long black hair, tight black shorts, and a tight black shirt to match, if it were the normal world, Nova would probably get along with her well. There was a timid boy, he looked to be about 14, poor thing. And to the left of Nova was a girl a bit taller than her, with her hair up to her chin, she had a quite weird outfit, she wore a tight crop top with bell bottom jeans and a puffy vest over it.
Nova turned to Chishiya to find him already looking at her, he didn't notice she was staring at him until he snapped back into reality.
'What' she mouthed at him. 'I was thinking' he mouthed back. She nodded slightly before turning away.
"Registration closed, there are a total of 8 players. Difficulty: 3 of hearts. Game: outlier. You must find the outlier within the time limit. Clear condition: eliminate the outlier, all weapons allowed"
Nova glanced around the room cautiously, she loved hearts games.
"Game commence"
Chishiya wasn't much of a hearts player, he'd rather play a diamonds game but at least he had someone who did play hearts games as his partner.
Nova glanced around the room eyeing every player, nobody wanted to speak up.
"All right so we just find the outlier and kill them?" The girl in all black questioned, also observing everyone in the room.
"Let's just kill off whoever is suspicious" the timid boy said.
"He looks suspicious, he is a sneaky looking one" the girl in the weird outfit accused, motioning to Chishiya.
"No he isn't the outlier, we all are alibis of him" Nova spoke up pointing to the two who were making out, the driver of the car, and to herself.
"Well what if you guys were working together huh?" The girl in the weird outfit pressed on, not giving up.
"Now how in the hell would that work? Isn't there only one outlier? Why would we work together if our lives are on the line? We wouldn't kill ourselves to help the outlier." Nova scoffed, 'obviously these people don't have brains'
As arguments broke out in the room, Nova examined the girl in all black, she was staying quiet, watching the arguments burst out with a glint of amusement. The look in her eyes said 'this will be easy'. 'Bingo, there's our outlier'
"Guys stop why dont we just kill everyone in the room? Take turns? Pass the gun around the room and whoever has the gun can shoot who the want" the all black girl said, uncrossing her arms and picking herself up from the wall.
"Good idea" Nova smirked.
"Seems I'm the only one who has a weapon, so I'll get to shoot first" Nova said, hoping there was no secret weapon.
The all black girl did a small movement that didn't go unnoticed by Nova, she slid her foot under the counter and pushed a gun to behind her feet so she could use it if needed.
Nova would have gotten shot if she hesitated. Nova grabbed the gun from her waist band, pointing it at the timid boy, he started crying out "no! I'm not the outlier I promise" 'I know'
She acted as if she were going to shoot but quickly turned the gun to the girl in all black, shooting her in the head. If Nova didn't shoot her in a vital area, the girl could have easily fell and grabbed the gun behind her, shooting Nova. But Nova was smarter than that.
Chishiya stayed silent for the whole of the game, he knew Nova would know how to take down the outlier.
"Game cleared, congratulations"
"Oh my god thank you so much! I thought you were going to shoot me" the timid boy screamed in relief, running up to Nova and hugging her. Nova wasn't one to like hugging random people she didn't know, but she patted his back uncomfortably until the boy let go.
Nova immediatly started leaving for the car but grimaced when she remembered the couple would most likely be making out again in the back seat and turned to look at Chishiya.
He raised an eyebrow, questioning her.
"Uhm, I don't wanna sit in the car anymore, wanna walk back to the beach? It isn't far from here and I don't wanna walk alone" she asked, for some reason she felt timid, just like the little boy in the coffee shop from earlier. Nova never felt really timid around someone she barely knew.
