— this book almost went on hold.
BiggestFan104 another one for you 🤭💞☆★
you clasped the straps of your apron on, tying your hair into a messy bun. the breeze was cool, the sun wasn't too hot today.
"good morning," you greeted your co-workers.
'ding! ding!"
you headed to the register to greet the customer. "hello, what can i get for you-" your sentence was cut midway as you looked at the guest in front of you.
if you had to be honest, he was more of an admirer. that's how you thought of him. never once had you gone over or did he strike a conversation with you. this was going to be another day, no?
"hello, i would like to order.." he trailed off, pulling out a wallet from the inner pockets. he scanned through the tiny pockets pulling out a card. "latte macchiato, is what you've always ordered, right?" you asked, your hand grabbing onto the edge of the counter. he blinked before lifting his head, eyes meeting yours. "yes, you're right." he chuckled, awkwardly, handing you the card.
"beep!'
the machine makes a sound as it prints out the receipt. you extended your arm, handing the card wrapped between the receipt back to him.
"also.." he says, pulling out a yellow card, a coupon card. he extends his arm, handing you the card.
your eyes scanned the coupon for a second before you brung your gaze back to him. you leaned over the counter, "mister," you started. "you're always here when i'm on shift, you come here and order the same coffee as always. you sit in the same spot everyday. you think i don't notice that you're always glancing at me?" you smirked, crossing your arms. he shoved his hands in his pockets, clearing his throat. he laughed it off, awkwardly.
"what's your name?" you asked, leaning over the counter. "uh.. oh jihyuk, detective oh jihyuk." he introduced himself. "so you're a cop..?" you hummed in response. "do you like me, detective?" you asked, tilting your head sideways. "well.. you seem like a good person so i wanted.. this is the first time for me." he scratched his head, chuckling nervously.
you grabbed the yellow card, turning it over as you grabbed a nearby pen. you scribbled down your number on the back before flipping it over.
"i think you seem like a good person too." you slid the card back to him. "and oh, your coupon is qualified for 12 free coffee orders." you added. you bowed, "come back again!" you waved with a smile. "thank you," he bowed to you before grabbing the cup off the counter.
he exited the store, walking to the parking lot. he took a sip of coffee and hummed. he opened his hand to reveal the yellow card with your number written on the back.
a small smile appears on his face.
