welcome, welcome. sorry for not posting as much as i used to. when that writers block kicks in, i don't be writing shit.
getting to the story, i hope you enjoy this chapter :")
also, i was kinda high while writing. if some things don't make sense, i'm sorry.☆★
you sighed, scrolling through the newspaper articles about the company. you turned your attention to your secretary who handed you some papers. "your signature, miss." she says, handing you a pen. you scribbled your signature onto the document and handed it back. "has father returned to his office?" you asked her. "no, your father has not checked in the main office." your secretary said, bowing before she leaves.
you stood up, walking slowly in front of your desk. you took a seat at the edge, bringing your finger to your lips. you chewed on your nail, furrowing your brows. you pulled your hand away from your mouth as you stood to your feet, walking out of the room. you walked towards your father's office, past the receptionist space.
you opened the door, walking into his office. you spot his secretary setting down a stack of papers. "mr. kim, have you seen father? i can't reach him. it's been almost four days." you told him, pressing your lips together. he bowed, giving his apologies. "i have not seen or heard from your father, missus." he says.
you sighed, turning around as you hear a knock. six men entered the room, following them were other workers holding blue boxes. your lips parted to speak, you were confused.
what are these people doing here? who are they? why.. are they here?
"hello. i'm oh jihyuk. i'm here with the violent crimes team two, incheon seobu police station. we have a search and seizure warrant for kim ju-won. kim ju-won is suspected of embezzlement and fraud of five million won." he says, holding the warrant for you to see. "e..embezzlement?" you asked, turning to his secretary. "i don't know, missus." he says.
you sighed in frustration, nobody knows. "my father's not here right now." you told the detective. "then, where is he right now?" he asked. "i.. don't know, i haven't been able to reach him in four days." you said. "but my father embezzled five million won?" you asked. "since, your father's whereabouts are unconfirmed—we'll take you down into the station to have a chat, ask a few questions." he said, raising his brows with a smile. you nodded. "also, to answer your question. yes, there's lots of evidence." he bowed before instructing the workers to search throughly.
you walked out of the company doors, the valet comes towards the car, opening the door for you. you sit down fixing your skirt, closing the door. "ready." you say, grabbing onto the seatbelt.

you sat inside the interrogation room. you inhaled deeply, pressing your lips together. thumping your fingers onto the surface. so many things ran through your mind. 'father said he needed to take care of somethings, disappears for four days without contact, and the police is suspecting him of embezzling five million won. something's not right.' you thought.
"sorry to keep you waiting. here's some coffee." a younger detective comes in, placing a cup of coffee onto the table. "thank you." you smiled at him. you glanced at the cup, extending your arms to grab it. you blew to cool the heat before taking a sip.
another fifteen minutes flew by slowly as you waited alone. two detectives come in, the two from earlier. "ah, i'm sorry to keep you waiting. there's a lot of paperwork." he smiled, sitting down in front of you. "no worries." you responded.
"as you may know we're obligated to search your bank accounts and that of family.." he spoke. you nodded in response. "let's start. what's your name?" he asked, typing on the laptop. "kim yeojin." you answered.
"birthday?"
"occupation?""my father is missing. he's been out of contact for four days. his secretary hasn't heard from him and i-i haven't received any calls. i'm worried, please help me find him." you begged them, clasping your hands together.
"calm down. take a seat."
"calm down. we can help if you provide the information needed for the investigation of your father." detective oh says, hands leaning against the table. you nodded. "i'll help you." you said, turning to the other detective.☆★
you stepped out of the police station, walking down the stairs as you headed inside the car. "drive home." you said, grabbing your seatbelt. "yes, ma'am." he says, before pulling out.
you leaned back in your seat, your eyes wandered staring at the trees and buildings. as seconds passed by, you were lost in your thoughts—pieces of the puzzle not fitting together. you slid your finger over your lips, you sighed, hanging your head low.
"ma'am?" the driver called you. "yes?" you raised your head slowly. "we're here." you nodded, pulling the handle as you exited the car. the driver exited bowing to you. "thank you. you can take the day off." you smiled, turning to head into the house. you stopped, turning around to check your mailbox. you pulled out your keys, opening the box. "why are there so many?" you whined, before pulling out a handful. you grabbed the rest, hugging it against your chest as you headed inside.
stepping inside, your shoulders drooped. you dropped the mail onto the counter as you massaged your neck. "what is this bullshit going on?" you cursed in frustration. you took a seat, skimming through the senders. however, one mail caught your glance—it was box. it was unknown to the mails you regularly received but it was addressed to your house.
you stood up grabbing a kitchen knife, using the blade to open the box. you placed the knife into the holder. you pulled out another box, wrapped with a blue ribbon. you clicked your tongue, untying the ribbon. you removed the cover, revealing a white paper. you picked up the paper, unfolding it, revealing letters that were sticked onto the paper.
'one million won. i'll send the time and place. contact me at XXX-XXX-XX35. i'd advise you to comply.. if you don't want your father to loose another finger.
did you see the present?'
your lips parted, mouth growing dry. "f-father.." you crumbled to your feet, tears falling from your eyes. "are you in pain? does it hurt badly? don't worry, father. i'll find you." you breathed in deeply, wiping away your tears and soothing your runny nose.
"present..?" you questioned, leaning over the counter to peak into the box. you gasped, your hands immediately clasped over your mouth. you stumbled back, collapsing onto the floor. your hands shook violently, you clutched your chest as your heartbeat increased and your breathing turned into panting.
