My heart dropped as I felt myself falling with nothing to catch onto, and it felt like forever I was falling. Maybe that's just how falling was, I'm not sure, but I very obviously wasn't falling for that long, since I was still near the top of the cliff when I felt a firm hand grab my wrist. I was supported for about two seconds before I was falling again, but this time someone was falling with me. We tumbled and rolled together before I held out my Rotom Phone and clutched my falling buddy with my other hand. My Rotom Phone saved us from breaking some bones just in the nick of time, and we dropped to the ground from a safe height.

I kept my arm tight around my falling buddy's arm before I took a look at their face and realized-

"GAHH! Who are you?!" I fumbled away from him and felt my entire face go hot as I stared at the tall guy. His jawline was strong and dominant, but his long, two-toned hair framed his face in an amazing way. The sun hit his hair perfectly, so it looked like it was glowing as it rustled a bit in the wind. His eyelashes were long, but his luscious hair was hiding his left eye, which was likely the same pale, icy blue as the right one. I stared at him, a bit dumbfounded at how nice-looking he was, and froze.

"My name's Arven, what's it important to you?" He said curtly, turning away from me. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. Looks can be deceiving. He's quite the piece of work... I couldn't help thinking, and I turned away from him the same as he did to me. But a large purple shape caught my eye, and I couldn't help but gasp as I ran toward it. "Oh my gosh. It's a Pokémon! What kind, though...? I've never seen anything like it!" I kneeled in front of it and rustled through my bag. He didn't seem to need a revive...not any potions, either, and not a Pokeball... I didn't think I had anything, that was until I pulled out my mother's sandwich that she had made especially for me.

"..." I stared at it, then at the Pokemon, then at it, then at my Fall-Buddy, who was standing and watching, a furious look on his face. "Okay, fine. Here you go. My mum made this. Her sandwiches are the best, so you should perk right up!"

The purple Pokémon took a single bite of the sandwich, hesitated, then immediately gobbled the rest up. He stood up and let out a ferocious roar, knocking me back as he reared up on his hind legs. I shielded my eyes as a bright flash of light shone. When the light died down, a completely different Pokemon was standing in front of me, little zapping noises emitting from it. I heard Arven gasp as the Pokémon pushed past me into a nearby cave, hovering over the sandy beach.

"What did you do to it?!" Arven asked, his eyes wide with disbelief. "How did it change like that?!" He curled his fingers into a fist and glared at it as if he was mad at the Pokémon instead of me. What a mysterious guy... I thought to myself. Attractive too. I shook my head, pretending like I didn't have that thought. He was too much of a jerk to have thoughts like that.

I glared at him and followed the Pokémon's path, fear trickling down my spine and sending chills across my body. "What is that Pokémon...?" I asked Arven. He seemed like he'd know, although he wasn't very happy about it. Arven scowled at it. "It's called Miraidon, but it's nothing but a-"

"Rocka! Are ya down there?!" I looked up to see Nemona yelling as loud as she could in the cave. "Rocka?! Are you okay?!" I opened my mouth to respond, but she interrupted me. "Oh man, I shouldn't have left you, dang it!" A little wince-like sound came from her, and I shouted back up to her. "We're fine! Arven's here too, he's okay!"

Arven shrugged. "Obviously." He scoffed, rolling his eyes. I blinked at him. "Hey. We can change that." I pointed aggressively in his face, and he flinched, taken aback. I turned back to follow-what was it called? Mirrordon? Whatever. I turned to follow the purple Pokémon and stayed close behind, being sure to avoid his electric-like tail.
