I walked carefully along the path, searching for the smallest movement in the cliffs towering around me...I could feel the anticipation rising through me, like being on the defensive side of the field while the offense is about to score a goal.

"I miss you guys..." I muttered to myself, holding my hand to my heart. Go Perrserkers. I smiled a bit, recalling our team cheer that we would always shout at the top of our lungs the day before a game. I gasped when a voice from behind me startled me, and I whipped around, readying my Pokeball.

"Miss who?" The man said, a frown plastered on his face. I exhaled and smiled a bit. "Just thinking about my friends back home," I whispered, just loud enough for Arven to hear. He blinked. "Isn't Paldea your home?" He asked, a bit of a sting of jealousy in his voice. I looked at him and frowned. "The place I lived before Paldea. Galar? Ya know? I'm thinking about my teammates. My...family. Home away from home." I could feel a swirl of sadness tugging at my heart, but I had to shove it down. I could cry about that later. Right now, I was looking for-

"GAH-!" I let out a yelp as Arven shouted something to me, then tackled me and pushed me to my left. He stood atop me, his arms just above my shoulders, panting. "What's the b-ig...deal..." I trailed off and stared at him, both of his eyes staring right back at me. He was absolutely beautiful, especially overtop of me like this...the lighting, his strong jawline, both of his eyes with that terrified look in his eyes...

First off, stop, ew, second-why is he- "HOLY ARCEUS-" I shouted and rolled to the side as a giant crab Pokémon rose from the ground. "Is that it?! This is pretty stony and cliffy if I do say so myself." I released another yelp as it roared and snapped its earthy claws at me. I sent out Sprigatito and glanced at Arven, who had backed up a bit. "Hey...Rocky, I hate to do this to you, but...do you think you can handle this alone? I'll look for the Herba Mystica cave..." he looked guilty but spoke with urgency. I nodded and exhaled sharply. "Yep. Just don't get caught in this fight." I warned him, trying to push our thoughts of what would happen if he did.

"Okay Sprigatito, you've got this!" I shouted. "Make sure you don't hit anyone except for Klawf! Especially not any bystanders!" I warned. "Ok, let's go! Use leafage!" And with that, Sprigatito let out a screech, and an aura of green appeared around her as leaves swirled around her, then she shot them at the enemy, multiple at a time.

I grinned as Klawf took the hit, making another roar. It hit Sprigatito with a move I couldn't define, but rocks were flying toward her at rapid speeds. She avoided three of the five that were shot, but a few of them hit her square on and did too much damage for my comfort. "Come on, one more time! Leafage!"

Another swirl of green leaves and the Klawf started to run away and retreat. "Oh no, no no! Come back! Get back here you!" And with that, I took chase, beating my legs as fast as I could. In an instant, I was back on the field, dribbling the ball with my wonderful blue stick in hand. Left and right, left and right, dodge, lift, tap tap tap, left, right...I dribbled and dodged the ball all the way up to the goal...when I was thrust back into the real world after my foot caught on something and I started to fall forward.

My heart lurched as I saw what was in front of me, and I felt a scream escape from my lips. I waved my arms to try to balance myself from falling off of-yet another- cliff. I felt two strong arms wrap around mine and I was standing there, hovering over the ledge. I took several deep breaths and fell back into the person who had caught me, trying to calm myself down. He sat down and let me lean into him and I exhaled and inhaled strongly.

"You're okay." He said, giving me a little pat on the head. I looked up at him, my head softly placed on his chest. His long hair was draped over his shoulders and still framed his face perfectly, even from the current angle. It was awkward but perfect. I closed my eyes and relaxed a bit, leaning more into the taller man.
