To be specific, humans in our city can't choose who to love or procreate with, the governing body which is the vampires, find your most compatible fit and have them assigned to you and stipulate how many kids you should have. All of this is to ensure that they have the best quality blood, so basically rearing if you asked me.

We also have stipulations on what we should or should not eat, so it's all good if you love being controlled like that. There are a few humans that hold high positions, in helping with the oppression of their own kind or the ones that sentence the rebels to death, people such as themselves get the privilege of choosing their partners such as my adoptive father- Jonathan. 

He is currently n advisor to the Royal family so you could say that this family gains a few privileges. But trust me, as humans we are by no means free to do as we, please. The role of the advisor is just for the vampires to use their own kind against us. As I mentioned previously we are seen as livestock by the majority of vampires in the white lotus. If we are seen with illness, bruises, etc our family will be responsible and sometimes generations of families died because of situations like that. 

The worst is if we kill each other, we are placed in a place called public blood bank, it is said that they have you hooked up to a machine that forcefully feeds you and also withdraws blood from you to the store. Basically living on the brink of death. These punishments are the reason why Brandon was scolded earlier, but their mother has trained them to be this way. 

I am certain that regular human children will not try to bruise each other because of the consequences but because miss Elizabeth has a father or more like family that serves a royal vampire that has more power than the ones that live in the white lotus. So she raised her children not to be bounded by these restrictions.

However, if the vampires catch on to the bye-bye to Jonathan's position and this family benefits. Many people might think why not leave if you are treated as cattle? That's the thing we can't leave. Only authorized persons are allowed to go and enter the borders of white lotus. 

If it's the case that you want to escape in White Lotus, just like how we have rules and laws, it's the same for vampires, they get a certain amount of blood slaves depending on their contributions, vampires who do not make those contributions and have taken blood salves are punished, some even for sentenced to eternal sleep as they are hard to die. 

Metal indeed can cause harm but it is not something that is life-threatening. Also, the reason why they don't kill each other is that it is hard for vampires to procreate, so many times they find some eligible human candidates and turn them into vampires.

So unless you want to be captured and drained or kept in a basement, you will stay within the perimeters where there is some sense of protection. The White lotus borders are impenetrable in every sense of the word. The ones that try to escape, either end up dead, captured, or used as a public statement to deter the rest that is thinking about doing the same. 

In this world, Humans are the most insignificant and have the highest population. It may seem weird how these supernatural allowed us to get this populated. A century ago, humans were the apex predators of this plain, and stood at the top of the food chain but that all changed when these supernatural beings started appearing out of nowhere. 

Apparently, they have been on this earth as long as humankind but have stayed away from our kind and were living life in the shadows. To this day, there are said to be even more supernatural beings that we do not know of, but they are the ones that still choose to know and associate with humankind. The vampires are one of the beings that used the opportunity to take over and derail the civilizations that humans have built.

The world is run by Vampires, werewolves, and wizards. Wizards are the most powerful of the supernatural on this plain, as stated by the vampires. Funny enough the wizards make themselves known but do not choose to get involved with the humans or the supernatural's. 

There are said to be many more beings existing on this plain, as the plane we live on is of tremendous size, there is a lot of unexplored and uninhibited land and maybe because of this, we didn't know as humans that we are not the apex predators we thought we were. The wizards have stayed out of the way of the werewolves and vampires fighting over who covers a large area for the last century, basically, wizards are lazy bums.

In regions ran by werewolves and vampires humans are subjugated to the same harsh treatments. The vampires feed off of us and the werewolves treat us as slaves and toys. Currently, I a happy about where we live because I don't want to be a toy to a werewolf, what if they are looking to use me as a sex toy?
