Hope you enjoy it!

"Get up here" my tormentor screamed from upstairs, their voice traveling through the floorboards down of the kitchen to my temporary safe space. I rolled over and peered through the small window in the storage room to see that the sun has yet to rise. "Guess I'm off to an early start today" I sighed to myself.

You're probably wondering why am I in the storage room before daybreak, and it's not because I'm getting supplies. Wrong! I live down, sleep, shower, and basically do everything down here. I rolled around a few times on the hard thing I call a bed a few times, before finally gaining enough momentum to get up off basically the floor without causing too much movement to affect my bruised limbs.

I started off with doing my daily routine of washing up and cleaning up the small area I call a bedroom otherwise from the boxes stacked to the ceiling. I moved around as quickly as possible in the small space that I had, pushing and rearranging my possessions behind the many boxes piled in the room so that I can have them to use for another day. The reason is that I didn't want the little devils that live upstairs won't soak my clothes and my 20% sponge and 80% hardwood bed again.

Just as I was about to make my way to the kitchen above and as I walked to the door, the freedom of opening the door myself was taken from me as it was done by someone else and slammed directly into my face. The force at which the door was pushed open, caused me to smash into the ground. The door had smacked me right in the nose, I hurried to grab my nose to stop the bleeding. In my moment of pain, I watched as a pair of shoes walked and stood before me. I looked up to see none other than one of the devil spans from the pit of hell.

"You took your own little time getting ready, huh?" sneered my adopted brother. He glared at me seeing as I was staring straight at him. "Sorry I will not let it happen again" I whispered while holding continue holding my nose and wiping away the blood but also keeping my head down so that I can go without a beating. I couldn't even tilt my head back so I could stop my nose from bleeding, all of this just because I didn't reach upstairs in time. They weren't even supposed to be up as yet, they are normally up after I have finished breakfast and cleaned the foyer area of the house.

As you can guess my adopted family treats me as their servant, doing all the chores and an outlet for the grievances, and gravel beneath their feet. All of them each possess some kind of inferiority complex, all weird, the bunch of them. "Are you gonna just sit and crouch like a dog on the ground for the remainder of the morning?" he asked, cocking his head to the side, looking like the dog he mentioned I was. With a look of disdain as if I was dumb, when he and his whole family is the dumb ones, maybe if someone could read my mind at the moment, they would let me know that I am also a part of this big dumb dysfunctional family.

"No Brandon" I said rising slowly, a bit skeptical because maybe he would try to hurt me again and again, I was right because as I stood up and approached the door to head to the kitchen, I was shoved and made contact with the floor for a second time today. This time I really looked at him, like are you crazy you want me to do something but stop me from doing it? How is it gonna get done then stupid? I screamed in my head, the only place I had the freedom to say whatever I wanted.

I saw that his look become more menacing and terrible as I continued to stare at him, a look that blatantly said If I could, I would kill you right now. Seeing as his glare got worse by the minute, I started crying internally. I can't manage another beating at this moment, the bruises from the last beating have yet to heal and now I am facing another potential world of hurt.

"Don't call me by my name you pest, clean yourself up. You're such a disgrace, why are you a part of this family" he retorted before stepping over me and leaving the room. I held on to one of the boxes close to me so that I could use it to help me get up off the floor. I hurried to get something to clean up the blood off my face and floor and get a change of clothes as the blood stained both my shirt and pants. Thankful the blood had stopped running from my nose.
