"Look what I found!" The tiny 5-year-old yelled at his friend. They were on the beach looking for seashells together. The sun was setting, its reflection making the water look red and orange. The boy ran up to his friend, his raven hair stuck to his head from sweat, and opened his hand to show him a beautiful blue and red shell. It was slightly transparent, the red and blue tints making the boy's fingers underneath the shell appear multi-colored. It shone in the brown haired boy's face and made him rub his blue eyes.
"Wow! That's really pretty!!" The tiny brown haired boy said. The black haired boy pointed to the spot where he found the shell and the two walked towards it. They sat in the sand and named the colors in the sunset that they knew. The sun was finally going down, and the brown-haired boy stood up and looked sadly at his friend.
"My mommy said I couldn't talk to you anymore." The brown-haired boy said. The black-haired boy stood up next to him and looked at his feet.
"I know. Your mommy told mine and she told me not to talk to you anymore after today." He said sadly. The brown-haired boy began to cry and started rubbing at his eyes. The black haired boy smiled weakly at him and wrapped his tiny arms around him. He himself was trying to hold back tears.
The brown-haired boy finally calmed down to sniffing and pulled back from the boy's arms a little. He looked at the shell in the black haired boy's hand and snatched it quickly from his hands, breaking it in half. "Hey!" The black haired boy cried angrily. He was going to give him the shell so he wouldn't be sad anymore but now he broke it! The brown-haired boy smiled at him and handed him the blue half of the shell, keeping the other half for himself.
"Here! You can have this half and I can have the other so if we ever see each other again, we'll know from the shells." He said. The black haired boy stared at him for a second before surprising the brown haired boy by kissing him square on the lips. The brown-haired boy blushed and looked right into the other boy's eyes.
"I love you, Hunter."
"I love you too, Sullen"
