Melissa

The following day, I decided to spend my lunch break away from my desk and even more so,....completely outside of my practice, something I didn't do very often, which explained the surprise on the faces of my employees as I waved them good bye and said I would be back in an hour.

Grinning to myself, I even decided to leave my car where it was and took a stroll through the streets of the city, to get to my destination.
Without any hesitation, my feet steered in the right direction, the only direction that I was so eager to head out to and where I finally arrived, a little while later

Just like the day before,.....I entered "Gretha's green heaven" with a smile, only this time knowing what this little gem had in store for me and even found "my" table vacant too.

Lucky me.

Taking a seat, I swiftly gazed through the room, checking out the surroundings, but other than an elderly man reading his newspaper sitting two tables away from me and a sweet, young couple that couldn't take their eyes off of each other,......seated way in the back,....and myself....there were no other guest's present.

"Hello there.....what can I get you?" a cheerful voice, snapped me back into reality. Seemingly silent, the blond angel that first took our order yesterday, swooped by and now stood infront of me, with a curious look on her face.

"Uhhhm.... I'd like a cup of Cappuccino please...!" I answered her, detecting a hint of disappointment in my own voice.
Disappointment?
Really?

Yes really!!

Quickly dismissing this uncalled for thought, I managed.....like always.....to keep a straight face and instead ask her ever so casually....

"Is your Colleague not working today?"

Immediately the cute, blond angel totally tensed up and her up until then, cheerful voice got all serious, as she looked at me... wrinkled forehead and all.

"Why do you want to know that?"

she asked and made me feel like I was being interrogated.
Quick Melissa, think!!

I thought with my mind racing, to find the right words and not scaring off Blondie at the same time.

"Well.......!" I began, trying to buy some time under her very alert eyes.

"....I left kind of in a hurry yesterday.....and I....I.... didn't uhmm....catch her name... that's why!"

Crossing her arms infront of her chest, she gave me a sheepish grin..

"Uuhuu....yeah and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have told you anyway,....because....because that's not Sunny's thing......ooops!"

she quickly slapped her hand over her mouth, but it was already to late, the information I seemed and which she didn't want to give to me, just popped right out of her mouth.
Why thank you I thought, enjoying the smooth, comforting feeling...of still having that magic I thought I had lost.
Amused by seeing her squirm, I leaned back in my chair and curiously raised my brows.

"Her name is Sunny..???!"

Sunny Bloom, I added in my head, what a delightful Combination indeed.
I smiled at the Chatterbox, who let out a huge sigh and went on to answer..

"Noo....Sunny is just her nickname."

"Soooo.....tell me.....what is her actual name then?" I probed further.....which made her squirm even more and then she finally capitulated.

"Her name is Xenia,....but she.....well she doesn't like it all that much...!"

Xenia.....I let the sound of that name,....her name float through my mind a bit before I replied.

"Xenia....... that's a very unique and also very.... beautiful name in my opinion!" and I meant every word I spoke.
"Why doesn't she like it? I don't understand!" I added, shrugging my shoulders.

"It's because of her height.....I think." the blond cutie said and I had absolutely no clue what to make of that.

"Her height???? What does her height have to do with her name? Please enlighten me, because i don't get it!!!"

I exclaimed with a frown and watched her throw her hands up, waving them around like she was auditioning for a dramatic role in a Broadway musical.

"Ok....ok...but only if you promise not to snitch on me!!!"

I displayed  my most serious facial expression and raised my right hand, as if to swear an oath,.....hoping she would give in.....which she did......a few anxious heartbeats later.

"Well she absolutely hates, being compared to Xena......you know that character from the series "Xena".
But you didn't hear that from me......right!!!"

"Ummm.....yeah....sure. But what....series is that? I'm not familiar with.......!"

Too bad Blondie couldn't serve up more details though.....after she brought me my Cappuccino, she had her hands full at the flower counter, after all in two days time Mother's day would be coming around yet again and she was taking down orders like crazy.

Mother's day!
I bet my mother would be quite happy to see me, I smiled and my smile got even bigger, when I thought about this great coincidence, not only visiting my mother.....but also stopping by at "Gretha's green heaven" yet again to purchase a beautiful mother's day bouquet, hopefully crafted by a beautiful woman, with a beautiful name.

I presumed that this flowery battle would require all hands on deck, which in turn would include the tall and beautiful Xenia.....how absolutely perfect!
Very pleased how my lunch break turned out, I emptied my cup, placed the cash beside it, not forgetting a proper tip and headed back to my office, all cheerful and smiles.

Hmmmm......Xenia....an extraordinary name.....for a extraordinary woman.
