You slowly sipped your coffee, humming a tune.
Man, what was there to do now?
Class for Uzi should be up, might as well have a chat.
You decided to head back to her dorm room.
If anything it felt a little weird to rely on a girls dorm room, but you didn't really care.

(Another timeskip~)

You opened the door, revealing N looking away from the computer, covering his face with his hands with what seemed to be a huge blush on his face.
Uzi was doing the same sort of thing but on the bed, facing away.

"Uhm... If you guys were gonna get down, I'm sorry for interrupting I'll jus-'

Uzi: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! WE... JUST SAW SOMETHING WE SHOULDNT HAVE!"
Her blush only somehow got bigger.
N buried his hands further into his head.
As you were about to glance over to the computer, N in a flash deleted the tab as Uzi dashed over to cover your eyes.

"You guys wanna explain or..?"

Uzi: "Look! We... Were looking at some human anatomy, and when we got to the images..."

"Yeah, I get the picture."
Well, that was certainly a turn of events.

Uzi: "You humans are so weird!"

"Pfft, ever look in the mirror?"

Something flashed on what was left of your screen.

SYSTEM ERROR; INSUFFICIENT MATERIALS
REPAIR OF SCREEN INTERRUPTED

Looks like you'd be stuck with one eye exposed for a while.

Everyone calmed down a bit, with N in a corner, cradling his head.
You sat down on Uzi's bed, contemplating.

"I..."
Why were you here?
Of course, it was your choice.
But did you ever have one?
N, Uzi, everyone else on the bunker felt like humans.
Infact, they basically are.
There's just some sort of disconnect.
You'd have to talk back with V and J, but something has always felt off.
Was it isolation?
Ever since you got here something has been missing.

Your thoughts always in some sort of disarray.
You never had a plan.
It's not like you wanted to go back to Earth.
But something here just made it feel so suffocating.
Your body was always in some sort of discomfort.
Some liquid metal flowed in your blood, a byproduct of the repairs.

Uzi sat concerned beside you, a bit morose.
While looking concerned, she wasn't really sure how to help you.

Uzi: "Are you... Ok?"

"Fine."
"Absolutely fine."

Those three words.
How many times have you said them?
Things like...

It is what it is.
Tomorrow is another day.
Such is life.

Was it true?
Were these sayings just words of comfort to justify you living?
The crushing weight of the world is huge, let alone the universe.
Let alone, some random teenager on some distant exoplanet.
Eyes racked with doubt, regret, shut.
Images of what your life could have been danced in your head.

Nice parents?
Friends?
Education?
Rend. Aside. Gone. Cast away.

Just like you.

Tears welled up in your eyes, begging to fall.
Your expression never tightened, nor relaxed.
Without a word, you stood up and opened the door, leaving Uzi's room.
You swiftly strutted down the hall and to the bunker doors, all but the last one was open.

WDF3: "Oh hey-"

You ripped the lanyard on his neck off, using it to open the door, leaving and swiftly shutting it.

Back out here.
The snow.
The buildings.
The remnants of a long dead society.

The soft whistle of the gale around you danced in your ears.
Slight pieces of snow drifted along, carried to a new land.
Glow from the two stars above permeated everything, a soft aqua finish.
Once more, you trudged back into the snow, back to the massive spire.
Passing the corpses of long dead humans and drones alike.
Your path was evident through your large footprints, contrasting the sea of white.

Finally reaching your destination, you fell to your knees, gazing at the stars.
You heard some rumbling in the pod before you, but that mattered not.
A feeling of clarity washed over you, the stars staring back.
V and J came out of the pod, in confusion.

V: "X? I thought we were meeting tomorrow."

"Oh, right."
Coming back to your senses, you stood up.

J: "Look, I'm sorry for what happened earlier."

"Good."
You took off your helmet, brushing aside tears.
Your hair swayed in the wind, it felt kind of nice.

You put your helmet back on, looking at the two infront of you.

"Made a choice yet?"

V and J looked at each other in un-ease, sighing.

J: "We want to apologize first."

"Don't talk to me, talk to the bunker dudes."

V:  "What did you and N do to get in?"

"Oh, I just hit under the door when they were looking who was on the other side and then when he opened it, I just went in."

...

V: "Huh."

"But I think you want a more direct approach, no?"

J: "Yeah."

"Well, I'm thristy, you got anything that ISN'T oil?"

J: "No."

"Damn."

"Well, you wanna go right now or..?"

V: "I was thinking of making an apology note or something."

J: "Yeah I was thinking of making a statistical essay-"

"That is not necessary."

"You say the word essay again and I will cleave you in half."

V: "I think you tried that already."
V had a smug grin plastered on her face.

"You have a point."
You sighed in defeat.

"If we're gonna continue this conversation can we head inside?"

J: "Why?"

"It's so fucken cold."

J: "Pfft, you humans."

"Shut it, tin can."

V: "Well, these tin cans just kicked your ass."

"..."

You silently climbed the pod and jumped in, taking a seat.

"That feels way better."

V poked her head inside.

V: "Well, don't you look comfortable."

She hopped in, taking a seat on the other pilot seat.

You started spinning in circles on the chair.
God, that brought you back.

"Honestly you might as well just waltz up to the doors, give it a good knock and just say sorry."

J: "Huh?"

"What's the point of honorifics?"

"I've ben living there for... Two days and I haven't even seen the person who runs the place."
"Only problem is the people will give you some dirty looks, but I just ignore em."

J: "Oh, thats different then I was expecting."

"Just, don't kill anyone. I think they even have an oil refinery in there."

V & J were practically salivating onto the floor, mouths agape.

"If you're gonna do that, can you not look at me? I feel like I'm about to get raped."

They affixed their gaze to other random objects in the room while you continued to spin.

"So, we got a plan."

"You walk up, knock, say you're sorry, and boom! You're in!"

J: "It's that easy?"

"Probably not but here's hoping!"

You went to stand up, approaching the ladder.
It was so god damn cold outside.
Oh shit, was the storm getting worse?

"Hey, the storm is getting worse, we're going on foot."

With a groan, they followed you back out into the frozen wastes.
You used your wings as shields against the eternal gale. (definitely not a reference)
J looked at you like you were some kind of coward, but you'd do whatever you'd need to not get your ass frozen off.
God, those robots probably weighed a ton, If you didn't have this suit you'd probably be blown (heh) so hard you'd be in the stratosphere.
You could really go for a coffee right now.

And so, your new trio reached the giant hunk of metal that was the outer door.
And...

And i'm gonna leave it here.
Yep, this is the author speaking we're just gonna cut this one short.
Not the story, I just wanted to name the next chapter something different.
Have a good one lads.
