I poked my head around the door to find a hallway. I began my escape, careful not to make even the slightest sound. After turning numerous corners and opening many doors I found what I was looking for, a window, my new best friend. I sighed, realizing it was locked. My eyes switched their attention to the room itself. I guessed it was a study. Stacks of papers and books were piled on and besides large wooden desk, obviously quite expensive, that had been placed beside the door. A bookshelf was next to the window, overflowing with a range of different novels. I took the thickest book I could find and threw it at the window. After throwing the object a second time the glass shattered. I dragged the desk chair to the window, then I removed yet another book to break off the fragments of glass still attached to the window. Finally I was able to escape unharmed by the window. I landed silently to my feet. Looking around I realized I was in the middle of a forest. I froze, I refused to allow myself to be recaptured but without supplies I would most likely die out in the forest. Suddenly a yell came from inside the house. I had no more time to think, so I ran. My chest pounded as I dodged branches. After running a good 2 hours with no sign of being chased I stopped. The sun was setting and there was not much reason to try running through the forest at night.
I awoke to howls off in the distance. After a few moments more howls came from ahead of me. I questioned whether it was worth the risk to move forword, while at the same time it was no safer turning back. I soon realized how little distance between me and the wolves there was as a twig snapped to my right caused by the owner of two glowing eyes.
