I cannot lie to you by telling you that this had ever happened to Alyssa. Being asked out? Well, she had read, seen, and heard in books and movies...but happening to her? No way in hell did she think this was real. Without thinking, she took her phone and typed ...

"Why not".

Dear friend, I hate to spoil but, she did not know this would be the beginning of a whole other life in the future. She had laid a foundation, a weak one at the moment, but maybe it would grow strong one day.

The smile on Mason's face when he received the message was well evident to his almost non-existent friends that he had something or someone on the bait. One thing that made him get away with a secret date is that everyone seemed afraid of asking him personal questions. Asking him why he was smiling at that moment would be a personal question. But at least, he had earned himself a date, but I still tend to think luck was on his side.

Alyssa had plans of her own with friends but since she felt like having fun, she decided to cancel and head out with the beloved young man she knew nothing about. She did not really find it a great deal. Nobody saw it as a great deal for her to go out with this guy, or so she thought. As her friends dressed up to go and have fun, she did the same but not to go out with them but with Mason. She was so casual with it that she even told her church-based mother about the date. The fact that her mother was okay with it actually made her want to go on the date so much.... okay...maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but she was so casual yet happy about it.

Alyssa took her white flowery dress and put it on as the chitchat went on with her 'girls'. Her friend knowing that she was so casual tried to make it non-casual for her and made her change her outfit. Like I said before, it was not a big deal to her so she wondered why her friends put so much effort into styling her. The friends made her wear makeup (lipstick- because she refused to have her pretty face tampered with) and in a few moments, she was out and ready for her date. It was a pretty amazing date for her, I would say.

Mason held her hand as they entered the venue of their date. It being a normal place for all other citizens did not make their date normal. Mason pulled up a chair for her to sit and the date began. At first, it was all weird because you can imagine, these people had never talked, except on phone. The only talk they had ever had was when Mason asked Alyssa on a date, on a phone! Who the hell does that anyway?! Oh, Mason does. Okay, let me stop talking about him. But guys come on... I had overrated him so much. What I know now is that I shouldn't have.

The guy could not even keep a conversation going during the date. All they talked about was how their week had been, how the food at the date was, how school was so far, and so on. Luckily enough, they both had fun, or so they seemed. Being normal teenagers, lots of pictures were taken for memories to be reviewed later in life (they didn't know that). The date was nice, the food was sooooo nice, the dress code was...well chosen or elegant for them, love was in the air, fun was experienced, memories were made, and a future was begun.

Mason was a gentleman and after their fairy tale date, he took Alyssa back to the gate of where she resided. He bade her goodbye and went back to his room. Mason really saw something in Alyssa. Something, however, stopped him from saying what it was. He chose to take it slow, learn about her, get to be friends with her, and learn how to be confident with her at all times. He was a little innocent boy who was just learning about life and was not really sure how to go about it. It bothered him that life could not just have a manual on how to go about such situations, dealing with the world, and especially getting to talk to Alyssa about anything and everything.

All the events of the night made Alyssa forget one important thing in her life. She was in a relationship with a guy she loved so much. She was always a loyal person and the fact that she went out with another guy and failed to mention her lover bothered her. As she lay in bed reminiscing on the cute events and fun she had had all evening, she was bothered by the topic in her mind, she wondered what she would do. She felt like a cheat. She felt so treacherous and guilt-fed. It would bother her for a while but what she needed to do now, was tell Byron about it.
