"You can't blame me for this!" you shout at your boyfriend.

"I'm not blaming you, you just won't let me be upset," he shouts back at you.

"You should be thankful you were picked fourth it could have been worse!" You and Shane had just gotten out of the draft and didn't even get a chance to process him being selected by Seattle. He had dreamed of being chosen first overall and from dating him for the past year you weren't surprised he was upset, but he was more than disappointed, he was enraged.

"Oh? So you're saying I didn't deserve fourth?" Shane yelled.

"If you aren't going to listen to what I have to say then I'm leaving, so many people would love to be where you are right now Shane," you say starting to feel your face heat.

"Fine, be that way, why can't you comfort me like a normal girlfriend does when her boyfriend is upset?" He scolded.

"This entire time you have been so worried about your rank in the draft that you didn't even take the time to share this wonderful moment with me..." your voice trailed off as you felt a tear slide down your face.

"It's not wonderful right now Y/N, I need you to understand that-"

"And I need you to understand how to treat your girlfriend, if you want me to stay your girlfriend," you wipe your tear, "Goodbye Shane." You stormed out of the hallway where you and Shane were waiting before it was time for his media pictures. He watched you storm away frustrated with you, but now with himself. He posed for his photos in his newly acquired Kraken jersey, but they didn't feel like anything without you there to make him smile for the photos. He was disappointed in himself for getting picked "so low" in his eyes, but disappointed in how he treated you. Shane met back up with his family and they informed him that they couldn't find you, they assumed you went back to the hotel you were staying in, but you were roaming the streets of Montreal alone. You trudged along the sidewalk up to the hotel after walking four blocks alone in the breezy outdoors of the city. You walked into your room and flopped on your bed sobbing your makeup off into the box of tissues next to your bed.

Shane was worried about you, his family wanted to celebrate but he just wanted to look for you. He couldn't even imagine celebrating without his biggest supporter there. He had called you several times but you didn't answer you were too upset with how he treated you. He walked to the restaurant you had reservations at for a celebration hoping he would find you there, but he was unsuccessful. He tried many other places you had planned on going to celebrate but had no luck. He called you one last time hoping you would answer, but you didn't. He left you a message, you put it on speaker and his worried voice filled the room.

"Hey Y/N, I know you don't want to talk to me after I treated you but I really want to apologize, please call me back so I can see you and say sorry, love you." You picked up your phone and opened your messages with Shane, typing out I'm at the hotel and hitting send. Instantly he read your message and rushed over. In just 20 minutes you heard a knock on your door. You didn't even bother cleaning the runny mascara off your face, you just wanted to get the apology over with because you felt so bad after your argument. You opened the door to see an upset Shane still in his draft suit gazing into your eyes.

"Come in," he shuffled in with hands in his pockets breaking eye contact and looking down. The two of you sat down on your hotel bed both waiting for the other to say the word. Shane took your hands in his,

"I'm sorry Y/N, you were right, I don't know I was just frustrated with my place in the draft, but you were right, I should be thankful, and I'm so mad at myself for just leaving you behind, it is a special day and I should appreciate that I'm spending it with my favorite person. I love you and I mean that and I am so sorry for how I talked to you." You pulled your hands away from his and placed your hands on his shoulders. He smiled looking at you and seeing your smile. You pulled him in close and kissed him,

"I forgive you, Shane."
