You were so nervous as you and your twin brother Luke walked up to the door of the Michigan hockey house. It was your first college party, and spending it with your brother's teammates didn't make you any less nervous.
"You ready sis?" You stood there motionless at Luke's question, you thought about all the possible bad things that could happen while you were here. You knew there was going to be drinking and you weren't so sure how you would handle that. You were afraid of embarrassment and who would see you embarrass yourself. You had been to a few of Luke's games with the free time you had in school and noticed some of his teammates were quite attractive.
"Hello?" He waved his hand in front of your face snapping you out of your world of panicking thoughts.
"Sorry, yeah I'm good," you lied. He knocked on the door and got an immediate answer, he was practically dragged into the house letting you slowly walk behind. You looked around at all the flashing lights and people, you were starting to feel uncomfortable as you made your way inside.
"See you around sis!" Your brother called out to you as he found some people to keep him busy for however long he planned on staying. You found a seat on a couch alone frustrated with how stupid Luke was for ditching you at this party with no one you knew. You rested your head in your hands taking short little glances at what was going on around you. The girls all swarmed your brother and you could no longer see him. After sitting and thinking about what you had gotten yourself into you took a walk to the kitchen where you picked up a cup you thought was regular lemonade. You noticed its funky taste but didn't think anything of it, after all, it was just one cup what would it do?
After a couple more cups, you began to get a headache and felt a little dizzy. You hobbled upstairs without being noticed where you thought you would be alone and enjoy some peace and quiet until you felt better, you were mistaken, someone else had the same idea as you. You saw a boy sitting alone on a bed in a muscle shirt fanning himself with what looked like a paper plate. You wobbled into the room and sat on the bed next to him.
"Mind if I join you?" you giggled.
"Don't mind at all," he smiled back, "you're Luke's sister right?"
"Wow, I'm famous or something," you said with a laugh. He laughed too. You looked up to meet his eyes and froze. You didn't know if it was the drinks talking but he was really hot.
"I'm Owen, I guess I'm not famous with your brother," he smirked as he ruffled his long dark hair. You laughed again, he was so funny, but in your state, you thought everything was funny. While laying on the bed you both made fools of yourselves by saying nonsense things you both cackled over. You both talked and talked until you drifted off next to Owen.
You woke up with a nice warm arm wrapped around you across your stomach. You were confused and didn't remember much of last night. You carefully lifted the arm so you could turn over to see who it was. It was Owen's you didn't remember falling asleep, you remembered meeting him and that's it. You began to panic as you looked at him still asleep thinking about all the possible ways you must have embarrassed yourself last night. You tried to calm yourself down so your shakes in panic wouldn't wake him, you then realized that if he had his arm wrapped around you he must not have cared too much about all the nonsense you said the night before.
"Owen," you whispered. He didn't move, he was out cold. You ran your thumb across his cheek hoping he would wake up, but you didn't mind he was still sleeping, after all, he was really cute, and was keeping you warm. You turned to lay on your back again while taking out your phone to check the time. It was 10 AM you had one Snapchat from Luke from 5 minutes earlier. You opened it to see him laying on the couch where you initially sat at the beginning of the party with You still here? above his head. You answered trying to hide Owen as much as you could from the picture, but it was too difficult any way you took the picture a part of him would still be in it. After retaking the picture many times you decided it would be better to just show Luke than risk him getting mad at you for hiding that you liked one of his teammates. You sent him the picture of you and Owen and he opened it immediately. Suddenly you heard footsteps stomping upstairs leading to the room you were in.
"Y/N-" he yelled, but cut himself off when you shushed him to be considerate of Owen still sleeping.
"I'm sorry Luke," you whispered, "please don't be mad, I just needed a break from the party last night and this happened." He stood there arms crossed thinking of an answer when Owen started to wake up. He opened his eyes to see you laying next to him then looked up to see Luke looking angry standing there, but he was too tired to care for your brother's reaction.
"Hey Luke, I met Y/N," he said in a groggy morning voice.
"Yes, I see that." He was very serious making you a little nervous.
"Before you say anything Luke, I just want to say nothing happened," Owen blurted out.
"How do you know that?" Luke said with a more hostile tone.
"I had less drinks than her, I remember everything from last night," he answered. You panicked more than you already were, if he remembered everything that meant he remembered every way you could have embarrassed yourself last night.
"Then what happened..." Luke said.
"We just talked for hours and it was fun, better than what was going on downstairs." You smiled after hearing Owen say he had a good time, you were blushing you could feel it, and while he was saying all this to your brother he still had his arm around you which made you calm down.
"You can't get mad Luke, not after you left me alone at the party for all the girls you were with the entire night." You told your brother, he rolled his eyes.
"Okay Y/N I get it, I'll leave you guys alone to be happy or whatever, if you do hurt her Owen, I will break you." He said leaving the room.
"Well Y/N, what do you think, I know you don't exactly remember everything from last night and you probably aren't like that normally, but it was still one of the better times I've had at college, you wanna go out sometime?" You could feel your face heating at Owen's question as you stared into his eyes. You put your hand on the back of his head through his soft hair smiling, he knew what the answer was. You both leaned in for a kiss and it was magical. He squeezed you tighter as your lips met for another.
"I'd love to."
