Most fairytale's start with once upon a time and end with a happily ever after, but this story is not such thing as a fairytale. I have always lived with pain and mistreat. Despair and grieve are two things I'll have to deal with for the rest of my torturous life. My name is Juliet Harris. I'm a sixteen year old troubled teenager. My life has always been a misery, that's why I want to run away from where I live. I don't call it home because it's not a place that radiates love and companionship at all. It's a place with two adults holding on a thread, married to keep up with a social image, nothing more than that. My dad is snobby rich boy who was forced to get married with my mom who was the daughter of the owner of all the petroleum distributors in North America. They couldn't change it, their parents had set it up a long time ago before they were even born. It is what keeps business alive in both the Harris and the Dawson families.

Since I was very young, all my mom ever did was go shopping and travel the world by herself. I don't doubt that she had a secret lover that traveled the world with her and made her feel wanted while my dad was too busy snorting cocaine. I would always be left with a babysitter who would hit me, leave me for hours with the same dirty diapers and she barely even fed me. My father always enveloped himself in alcohol and later on turned into a cocaine addict. That was my home life.Outside of those walls everyone thought my life was perfect, people felt jealousy towards me because they thought they wanted to have my life, if they only knew what really went on, they would take it all back. Behind the fake smiles, the big mansion, the luxury and the perfect family image, there was a lot of things the world would never know about Juliet Harris' life.

My life isn't that amusing. I only have one friend, Alex. Whenever me and him go out he usually pays for any expense I may have, that's why I tend to have a lot of money saved up. Despite being a rich girl, I try to keep a very simple image. I don't spend my parent's money in over-priced designer clothing. I tend to go for a vintage/punk look. I have very light skin with hazel eyes and lengthened brown hair that is wavy. I'm average on looks. The difference between me and the other girls in my school is that I don't try to change myself for others to like me, because of that I have always been an outsider. They don't want anything I have to offer. All I have got is have a horrible home life and one friend.

Despite everything that happens at home and in school I try to be the best that I can be. You wouldn't understand how many times I have gotten made fun of because of my love for alternative music, for the clothes that I wear, for even the way I do my make up. They think people are made of stone, that words don't hurt. They must believe that they are perfect themselves.

I have never opened up to someone about what really goes on at home. It's truly shameful to admit your parents do not have time for you because they are too busy with traveling and diving themselves into drugs and alcohol. Alex is the only person I'm planning to tell. He is my best friend, he's an outsider as well. Our free time we usually spend it listening to music on my backyard laying on the grass. He sometimes comes over when my parents aren't home. They must notice either way because of all the cameras around but he still wouldn't like to meet them. Alex claims he'll punch the life out of both of my parents.

"Earth calling Juliet, Earth calling her" Alex said waving his big hand right in front of my face.

"What?" I bit back.

He chuckled. "Relax! It's three already, school ended 20 minutes ago, do you want to go get ice cream and then I can drive you home?"

"Sure" I said grinning,

I got my book bag and we walked through the hallways to the parking lot. Alex's car was parked at the very end of the lot. He owned a 1960's Mustang. Alex's parents also had money and had some  petroleum business going on.
