I was walking back home through the empty Manhattan streets with Analyah. For some reason, it had crossed our minds to go to the movies at eight, and now it was very dark, and life-threatening dangerous outside. It was very risky for anyone to be walking around at these times, especially two female teenagers. I was scared some thugs could appear out of nowhere and attempt to rape us, or even worse someone shot us thinking we were trouble. Horripilation started to form all over my body with just imagining the most terrible things that could happen. We were about six blocks away from home, I now know why we're in shape, because of so much we walk on a regular basis.
"Walk faster." I lowly whispered to Analyah, who's attention was diverted by a street fight in an alley not so far from where we were.
I stopped to take a look at the fight; being aware of how much trouble we could potentially get into. I felt my heart in my chest when I recognized one of the two tall figures monolithically hitting the other.
"Caleb." I whispered in awe.
Caleb and what seemed to be a taller, heavier men where aggressively throwing punches at each other. Why was this happening? I stood in awe trying to process what was happening. My heart sank when the taller figure kneed Caleb in the stomach, sending him right to the floor causing him to yelp in pain.
"Let's go." Analyah said. "You can't get into it." She continued. "Move before it's too late." She warned.
My mind was telling me to keep minding my business and go home, but my heart told me to help him. I couldn't go home after seeing Caleb yelp in pain and so I settled to go help him.
"I can't." I whispered. "Run home. Run as fast as you can. I can't leave Caleb there, he'll get killed."
"Are you sure?" She worriedly asked.
"Move!" I said and waited her to leave.
As soon as she started running Caleb was able to get on his feet and punch the man on his face, causing him to sway to the other side and press his hand on his cheek.
"Caleb!" I yelled to the top of my lungs.
The man took advantage of the distraction and kicked Caleb in the stomach one more time. When I made my way to the alley I stood between the two men.
"Who do we have here? A girl came to defend you? How cute!" He taunted.
Caleb growled infuriated by the man's words.
"Leave us alone." I said standing my ground.
The man loudly laughed at my words and held me by my wrists with my back almost pressed to his front.
"Or what little girl?" He teased.
"Or this." I said and I stumped as hard as I could on his left foot. When he let go off me I kicked him in his crotch as hard as I possibly could, making him fall to the ground in fetal position. Caleb chuckled behind me which made the man yell horrible profanities at me. I raised my right hand and realized I still had more than half of my slurpee on me.
"What did you say?" I asked. "Are you thirsty? I have something for your thirst." I added as I threw the lid of the cup to the side and spilled the cold icy liquid on his face.
"You bitch!" He yelled infuriated.
Caleb was on his feet leaning against the wall with his hands across his chest. "Good job naughty girl." He teasingly said.
The smell of alcohol radiated through his body which made me wince my nose in disgust. Caleb laughed and reached for his keys.
"You can't drive like that." I said taking the keys from his hand.
