-Taro's eyes widened. 'Pity him? I feel bad, but I don't pity him...'-

After hearing what her son had said the queen smiled. It was a smile that would instantly warm one's heart, and Taro could feel his skip a beat because of this warming smile. Despite her being dressed in a cold blue and even her light blonde hair and porcelain skin having a cool undertone, her entire being seemed so warm. So kind. It was like she was the feeling of warmth, comfort and love come alive as a person. It was astonishing just how warm she seemed.

Taro immediately wished his mother would have looked at him like that. He wished his mother would have loved and accepted him like queen Cecilia did with her son. Before Taro could introduce himself the queen stood up. She walked over to Taro and Callum with such grace and elegance, Taro was convinced at this point that she is an angel.

While the queen walked towards the two young men, her step quickened and her arms opened. When she reached them she pulled them into a warm embrace. A hug only a mother could give. Taro felt like a small child again. He felt safe. The queen's embrace was so warm and wonderful, he didn't want to leave it. He thought back to his early childhood, to the last time he received such a hug. Back to the time his family accepted him. Back to when his clan accepted him. Thinking about those times made him sad, but this hug, this warm, comforting embrace, immediately took away all the sadness inside of the brown haired bard.

"I am so glad you found someone again, my darling son. I wish you two the best of luck." 'Even her voice is warm..' Taro was amazed by this woman. He wanted to reassure her that he'd do his best to not disappoint Callum, but her next action cut him off once more.

"Taro, treat my son well. He has been treated so poorly....please don't disappoint him too.." Taro was too stuned to speak for a moment. 'Callum...has been treated poorly? Why? And...how could you treat someone as sweet as him poorly..?' The sound of Callum's voice broke Taro out of his thoughts. "Mother! That was incredibly unnecessary to say!" "But Callum-" "No. Now he'll just pity me..."

Taro's eyes widened. 'Pity him? I feel bad, but I don't pity him...' "Callum, I can guarantee you I won't pity you. But I cannot imagine how someone could treat you poorly...I swear on everything I own, I'll treat you so much better." Callum's eyes lit up. He blushed and turned away, waving his hand dismissively.

"You're just saying that!" Taro took Callum's hand in his. "I am not. I mean what I say, Callum. Believe me." These words caused Callum to blush even more. At the same time the dragon exhaled. Smoke filled the air. Taro tore his eyes away from Callum and the queen to look at the dragon. But when he looked at the seat the dragon had sat, a human sat in its place.

Taro stared in awe for the Killum knows how manyth time. The dragon, who had shape-shifted, looked astonishingly handsome with his very long, silky hair wich was as dark as the night sky, and his elegant clothes aswell as his piercing, icy blue eyes. Just like his wife, he had seemed warm, despite his strongly masculine features and judging expression. 'Callum must have his good looks from his father...' Taro was amazed. How could someone look so cold, yet be so warm? It was the same thing he thought about queen Cecilia.

The deep, but clear voice of the dragon shape-shifter boomed through the dining room. "Elf boy, you better keep your promises. For many other have said the same words to my son, yet betrayed him for his wealth in the end. If you wish to stay in Estivia I'd strongly advise you to not play with Callum's feelings." Taro was amazed once more. Callum's family, the royal family, was nothing like he expected. He felt warm in this dining room. He felt strangely welcome, despite the judging looks of Callix and the father. Taro felt home. He hadn't felt like there was a place he could call home for a long, long time now. He loved this warm feeling. The bard wanted to stay here, at all cost. He couldn't imagine a better place to be at than this dining room, next to Callum.
