Chapter Five
Gwen's POV
I was not looking forward to school tomorrow. I don't wanna see my mate, well my ex mate. I knew he was gonna be my sub again, especially because the regular teacher is on maternity leave.
"Gwen, time to go." My brother said from the front door. I grabbed my things and followed him to his car. About halfway to school Greg started questioning me.
"So you never told me who your mate is." He pointed out. I just continued to look out the window. He just sighed, "Who is it Gwen?"
"I don't wanna talk about it." I said to him.
"Come on Gwen." He said trying to coax it outta me. "I can beat his ass, whoever it is. This new trainer is gonna improve my fighting. Did you see how he flipped Aaron yesterday?"
I just scoffed and climbed out the car seeing as we arrived at school. I went go find my friends. I honestly just wanted to be alone, but I knew that was never going to happen.
'You don't want to be alone. You want mate.' My wolf said in my head. I sighed, because while that may be true, my mate didn't want me. I quickly located my friends. Sarah was kissing on her mate Carlos. It was the reason she knew about the werewolf world. She was the only human in our group of friends. Nate was standing there talking to Aaron. They all gave me sympathetic looks.
"Why are y'all looking at me like that?" I asked.
"We heard about your mate." Aaron said, pulling me into a hug. I groaned, how the hell did they know?
"How?" I asked pulling out of Aaron's arms.
"Lynette is going around telling all of the wolves." Nate said. I felt my anger spike.
"That bitch wants to die, doesn't she?" I say and go to storm off and find the bitch. She definitely had a death wish. Aaron stopped me, grabbing me around my waist and turning me back toward the group.
"Chill." He said and I huffed in frustration. I would chill if I could go and rip her head off.
"You're not gonna run off because of your mate, are you?" Nate asked and I looked at him like he was crazy. We've all heard the stories. Some shy or fat girl gets rejected by their mate and run away. Years later she comes back a total badass.
"The girls that run off are shy and insecure. I'm already a badass. I'm not going anywhere." I say, "My mate is gonna have to deal with seeing me everyday and realize he lost his chance with a hottie like this one." I pulled out of Aaron's arms again, grabbed Sarah, and walked away from the guys with confidence.
"Are you really okay?" She asked when we got away from everyone. I sighed and looked down at my feet. Sarah could always see through my bs. She knew exactly how insecure I actually was. I shook my head.
"I'm not gonna run off anywhere if that what you mean." I said, and she sighed.
"That's not what I meant. I meant are you okay? Seeing your mate everywhere. Lynette didn't tell people who he was, but I can only assume who it is. That new sub dude."
"Yeah that's him. He's also my new trainer." I said and looked down. My eyes watered as I looked at my fingers.
"Why doesn't he wasn't me? He's probably used to graceful skinny girls. I bet he has someone back at his pack waiting for him." She pulled me into a tight hug. Sarah knew there was nothing she could really say when I got like this. We stood there for a few minutes and then headed to class. When I got to the class, everyone looked at me. I'm guessing they all know. Hell, even the humans were looking at me with little curious eyes. I walked to my seat at the back of the classroom, when a human I've never talked to walked up to my desk.
"Is it true you asked someone out and they rejected you in front of everyone?" The human girl asked louder than necessary. Everyone turned back to look at us. This was one of the few classes I had without a friendly face.
"Is that what the rumor-mill is spinning?" I asked her like she was an idiot, "Everything you hear must be true. If that's the case, isn't it true you screwed half the football players at that party last week. Hmm." I said to her. Her face dropped and a blush grew. People around the class laughed and looked on waiting for drama.
"Well, at least I could get a guy." She responded, like the child she obviously was.
"Oh honey, being a slut isn't gonna get you a family or happiness in life." I said in a sickening sweet voice, not looking at her. She made a sound of anger and a sharp pain crossed my face as she slapped me. I growled lowly and stood up. Everyone looked at us in shock. I pulled my fist back and punched her in the face, efficiently breaking her nose by the sound of the crunch.
"Gwendolyn! Out of my class, now!" I heard the teacher yell. I grabbed my stuff and went out in the hall. I growled in anger, feeling my emotions get out of control.
"Calm down, Gwen." I whispered to myself. I really needed to get it together.
"Breaking noses isn't gonna help you feel better." A voice said behind me sending shivers down my back. Of course he was here.
"God, you're everywhere. Can you just leave me alone? Don't you have a class or something?" I asked Michael angrily.
"I don't. Not this period at least." He responded. I closed my eyes to hold back the tears threatening to fall.
"What do you want Michael?" I asked with a sigh.
"Say it again." He demanded. I looked at him confused.
"Say what?" I asked. He took a few steps toward me. I moved back until I was against the wall. He stood so close I could practically feel the heat from his skin radiating onto mine.
"Say my name again." He whispered, looking down at me with his beautiful eyes.
"Micheal, look-" I started but was cut off by him growling lowly. My wolf purred.
"I like hearing you say my name." His voice was gruff. His Wolf was making an appearance.
"Michael." I whispered, trying to finish my earlier sentence when he kissed me. My wolf howled in my head. I kissed back with as much force. I moaned into the kiss and he pressed his pant-covered erection into my leg. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer. He abruptly pulled away and practically ran down the hallway, leaving me a panting mess.
What the fuck? The damn confusing asshole. I picked up my books from the ground and made my way outside. I walked outside to the school's picnic table. I set down my books and made my way into the forest. I need to go for a run.

Michael is just a dick, ain't he? What's with him leading Gwen on like that? Come on man, do better.
