Chisaki laughs, causing NightEye to furrow his brows. "What do you think this is? A tag team? Two out of three are hurt—it'll never work."

"We'll see about that, Chisaki," I say, spitting the piling blood out of my mouth, my eyes still on him.

"Do you think heroes are just play things for you villains!" Incognito questions, studying Chisaki.

"Well—I wouldn't be here right now if you weren't, now would I?" Chisaki smiles from ear to ear, happy he managed to piss her off with his answer.

NightEye looks from me, to Incognito, then to Chisaki. "Hurt or not, we will find a way to bring you down."

Chisaki shrugs his shoulders, dropping them dramatically down to his sides. "To each their own."

"Someone's getting a bit too cocky." I say, my skin hot with anger.

Chisaki throws his hands up, as if being pulled over from the police. "Hey, I'm just saying. I know how good I am."

"How are you so sure that you won't leave this place in worser conditions than us combined?" I press, a smirk forming on my face.

"Look who else is getting cocky...tch tch tch, and I thought heroes were above that," Chisaki said.

I shrugs my shoulders, a palms facing up. "What can I say? I'm only human."

When we see that Chisaki doesn't plan on doing anything anytime soon, we lunge forward, both our fists in the air. Who knows? Maybe it'll work this time.

Correct.

Both of our fists connect with Chisaki's bottom jaw, sending him into the wall behind him. Even with the decent sized hole, I still feel anxious.

"What's wrong?" Incognito asks me, briefly looks at me before staring back at the silhouette.

My body feels uneasy, my body tensing, and my stomach turning. Why is it taking so long for him to get back up?

Incognito waves her hand in front of my face, her body tilting onto her left leg. "Hello? Earth to Ventriloquist..."

I snap out of my thoughts, shaking my head. "I think we should stick...together..."

The both of us look back behind us, seeing that NightEye is the only one who's not with anyone right now. Shit.

Another laugh erupts, this time from the outline in the wall. We turn our heads to face the very dim hole, waiting for see what taint he had to shoot.

"Did you really think I went out just like that? Ignorance really kills."

Both of our eyes widen, then we whip our heads back to NightEye, who's so far across the room he can't hear anything Chisaki just said.

"Shit—" We both turn our backs to Chisaki, gunning it to get to where NightEye is. "You've gotta get away NightEye!"

"What?" NightEye shouts back, not sure why we're running towards him.

I swallow hard, trying my best to dash as fast as my body would allow. "Get away! He's targeting you!"

The ground erupts from beneath our feet, the splinters of rubble and debris purposefully making it hard for us to reach NightEye, as it curves and makes us climb upward.
