The day before should've been a blur–that's how everything has been ever since you left the reassuring familiarity of home behind. You didn't care to make new friends, socialize, or be overly familiar with the school on your first day; instead, you kept to yourself and tried to stir away from attention. Yet even though an attempt was made, the universe is typically (almost always) against you and your wishes. Much to your dismay, you'll soon find yourself being followed home by the most popular girls in your new school.

"Stop following me, will you? I clearly made it known that I don't want to be friends with any of you."

Regardless of the cold stares and the harsh responses they receive from you, NewJeans are, without question, as stubborn as a mule. Even after you told them off for being bystanders, they constantly apologized and trailed after you like lost puppies. The girls would take every chance they could get to seek your attention, from taking any available seats to sending you notes throughout lectures or breaks, it was truly maddening.

This would've been a blessing to other people for girls and guys alike. However, you aren't like any of their fans or admirers–you're your own person with a cold heart. A very cold and chilling one at that.

"If you're still mad at us about earlier, then please allow us to make it up to you."

"We've tried to make Woojin and the rest of the school listen, to stop the bullying, but there is only so much we can do. We may be idols, but that doesn't mean everyone is willing to change or listen to us."

That was a fair point. You couldn't blame any of them for what had happened earlier as it was beyond their control. You knew it was unfair to hold them accountable for something they didn't do or initiate, but the least they could do was say something and you could tank the fighting.

Two of the girls, Haerin and Minji, had immediately spoken up when you stopped your tracks. Out of the five members, these two were the quietest but their observant eyes took in every detail. Like everyone else, ever since you appeared in front of them, they were taken aback, totally engrossed by the mismatched eyes that stared back at them. It isn't every day you see a person with complete heterochromia as it is one of the rarest conditions in humans.

Yet, as beautiful and alluring as optics can be, the way you settled the situation between Woojin and Dongpyo had made them feel even more fluttery. None of the girls have ever encountered someone so cold yet sweet at the same time; they were confused but agreed on one final thing.
