Chapter 7:Mad World

Children waiting for the day they feel good,
Happy birthday, happy birthday.
And I feel the way that every child should,
Sit and listen, sit and listen.

Went to school and I was very nervous,
No one knew me, no one knew me.
"Hello, teacher! Tell me, what's my lesson?",
Look right through me, look right through me.

And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad.
The dreams in which I'm dying,
Are the best I've ever had.
I find it hard to tell you,
I find it hard to take.
When people run in circles, it's a very, very.....
Mad world, mad world.

The kings natural air of confidence remained unshaken, as he slowly removed the hood of his cape, revealing himself to all the creatures around him, that ever so slight smirk of always being in control of every situation on his face.

Romaden spoke first, clearly in charge.Smaug practically shook with rage, that threatened to boil over at any given moment.

They looked over the king, yet he remained seemingly unfazed.

Good.Rage is so obvious,so- predictable.

"Lord Thranduil, how long it has been.Three thousand years?"

The king keep a eye on them all as he
responded.

"And yet time is so fleeting,is it not?"he replied, just as pleasantly,
"A mere blink in the life of we elves."

"Unlike the life you stole from my dear
mother!"Smaug spat,in a low,deadly tone.

And there it is.

"Smaug."she warned,"I will handle this."

The king waved his hand over the damaged side of his face, removing the spell he cast daily.

"Many have tried to end my life-
unsuccessfully."he retorted.

Thranduil watched as Romadens eyes
changed. She was truly a fearsome creature to behold.A true warrior.
Pity she had to meet her end.

"Kill him!Kill him now!"Smaug
raged.

"My handy work remains? After all this time?Impressive."she coo'd emphasizing the s's."Yet, what would a mother not do,for the love of her child?Tell me,
has your beautiful young bride seen your true form?"she asked, stepping between Thranduil and Smaug,a precautionary measure,"The One,I believe?Such a lovely, yet dangerous young woman."

Of course they knew. The dead see all, know all.

The kings smile widened,giving
nothing away.

"Then you know why I am here?"

"You will be acquiring nothing from our sacred house, elf!I assure you!"Smaug seethed.

"Son!You will remain silent."

"Killed my mother right in front me,as she tried to shield me from sight!I had
to dig my way from under her corpse!" Smaug roared, taking the dragons fighting stance,"You WILL die this day!"

The king understood more now, than he ever had.The anger behind every Smaug action.

All creatures,great and small,love thier mother's.
