Mina finds it hard to concentrate for longer than 5 minutes. Uraraka has to periodically snap her fingers to break the trances she's in.

"Ashido?" Uraraka says, for the fifth time. Her voice was finally starting to sound annoyed with her — but she was too sweet to admit that.

Mina swings her legs back and forth, resting her chin in her hands as she lay on Uraraka's bed.

"Ashido." Ochako presses, her voice had a warning edge to it.

Mina snaps back to reality. "Huh?" She blurted out.

"You've zoned out again. We're at question 54." She taps her pen on the paper, gazing down at Mina as if she is trying to decipher what she's thinking. "You could just tell Tsuyu you aren't confident in maths."

Mina slams her hands down in front of her. "No! Then she won't spend time with me."

Uraraka chews the tip of her pen, looking at Mina curiously. "But you shouldn't lie to her. Even if you have good intentions, right?"

Mina shakes her head. "Girl, if you were bad at maths, and Deku asked to study with you, we'd be in the exact same situation, and I'd be tutoring you."

Uraraka turned bright red. "We would not!" She said, dropping her pen and partially covering her face with one hand.

"You sure?" Mina asks, teasing her. She shoves her maths homework off of her bed and scoots closer to the girl. "I think we'd be in the exact same situation."

Uraraka flaps her hand in the air, fanning her face. It's almost an old fashioned gesture — but it's cute.

Mina stops teasing her for a moment and gently grabs her wrist, pulling it down to hold Uraraka's tiny hands in hers. "It's sweet that you like him." She gives her an earnest smile.

Ochako doesn't fall for her trick. "I'm not going to admit it just because you're acting all sweet with me." She says, pulling away from Mina.

"No," Mina whines, "just tell me! Admit it!"

Uraraka rolls her eyes. "Question 54." She taps her pen on her paper, grabbing Mina's dishevelled pile of pens, paper and notes from off the floor and placing it in front of Ashido.

Mina is starting to think that she was too optimistic — and she wasn't very optimistic in the first place.

She prays that no one can see her emotions bubbling over the edges — that she isn't making Tsuyu uncomfortable when she smiles giddily at her.

But of course she wouldn't be.

That's just what Mina is like.

Extravagant.

Excitable.

Fun.

Mina makes sure no one is uncomfortable around her. That no one is left struggling for words or conversation.

She fills in all the gaps. She always talks — makes people feel and know they're wanted. That they're important to her.

Tsuyu is blunt, and a bit aloof. She doesn't seem to understand Mina's harsh and blinding optimism. She doesn't understand Mina's blinding sunshine, or her rainbows and heatwaves.

Tsuyu is cool and calm. Like a river on a rainy day. Tsuyu is a gentle breeze. She's humidity and calm blue skies. She's clouds and tranquil drizzles of rain.

Mina hopes that doesn't scare her.

She's once again snapped out of her daydreaming by the familiar sound of someone trying to get her attention.
