Love and Betrayal - Poetry

Betrayal

What I had to do was done,
I couldn't bear to see you like that,
Couldn't let someone kill you,
Couldn't see you suffer in front of my eyes,
I couldn't take it.

I was told to kill someone,
But I'd put everyone at risk,
I couldn't do that to anyone,
Couldn't be the monster,
I had to do it.. I'm sorry.

Now you keep haunting me,
I see you everywhere I turn to,
Every corner,
Every side,
Every place,
Please stop.

You didn't have to turn yourself in,
I was perfectly trying to protect you,
But you promised you'll be fine,
And there you went and betrayed me,
I couldn't bear to see you like that,
So I had to betray you too.. I'm sorry.
