Chapter 4 - Rose's POV

I let John take Maddie for a ride in the TARDIS on the condition that she stay close to him. Then John jogged down the stairs and picked her up and walked out of the house. I sighed. I slid out of bed and got dressed and grabbed my leather jacket and phone which I stuck in my leather jacket and walked over to the window. I saw the TARDIS lift off into the air and then it was gone. I smiled. Then I walked out of my room and walked down the stairs and walked out of the house and walked down to the park and sat down on a bench and watched the other kids playing on the playground. Then a woman walked over to me and said: "mind if I sit with you?" I said: "sure. I just came here to clear my head. My husband and daughter went on a trip together." Then the woman sat down beside me. I said: "my name is Rose Smith. Yours?" The woman said: "my name is Donna Noble." I said: "it's been a crazy week. Literally. I found out that my husband is alive after so many years. Like I said: it's been a crazy week. I don't know why I'm telling you this. I'm sorry for dumping my problems on you." Donna said: "Rose, I don't mind listening to you. Actually, I came to ask you for your help." I was curious now. I said: "what's going on?" Donna said: "you have prior experience working at Torchwood, right?" I said bewildered: "well yes. But I quit after my daughter was born. Why?" Donna said: "Torchwood needs your help again." I was torn. If I return to Torchwood, I could possibly risk putting Maddie in danger. I sighed. There was only one thing that I could do to protect my daughter. I said: "I'll come with you. Just let me call my husband. I have to protect my daughter. She'll be safe with my husband." Donna said: "of course. Do what you need to do. I can wait for you." I stood and walked away and grabbed my phone and dialed John's number. Hopefully he had his phone with him. The phone rang for a bit. Then John said: "hello?" I took a deep breath and said shakily through tears: "John, I need you to keep Maddie with you. Don't come back for a while. I've been called back to Torchwood. Maddie is safer with you right now. Keep our baby girl safe." John said bewildered: " Wait, Rose, slow down. What the heck is going on? What are you talking about? You're talking like you're going to die. Can you fill me in? Cause you're making no sense. I'm not following." I said: "I used to work at Torchwood before Maddie was born. But I quit after Maddie was born. I don't know what's going on myself. All I know is that Torchwood needs me again. Can you put Maddie on briefly?" John handed the phone to Maddie. Maddie said: "hello?" I said through tears: "hey baby girl. I need you to listen to your Dad. I love you so much. And this is the hardest thing for me to do. I've been called back to Torchwood. Looks like you guys's trip just got extended. Have fun baby girl. Take lots of pictures for me. Put your Dad back on." Maddie handed the phone to John. John said: "Rose, I don't know what's going on, but you're being kinda cryptic. Please be careful. I love you. Call me when you find out more. I worked at Torchwood too. If you guys need advice, call me." I said shakily: "I will. I love you both. Bye for now." Then I hung up and stuck my phone in my leather jacket and leaned against the tree I'd been standing beside. I cried for a while. Hey, I have to tear myself away from my husband and daughter. At least I told them I love them. After a while I dried my eyes and pushed off from the tree and walked over to Donna and said: "let me just pack a bag really quick." Donna said: "you okay?" I said: "I just had to say goodbye to my husband and daughter to protect my daughter. Do I look okay?" Donna said: "point taken." Then I strolled back to my house and walked in and shut the door and walked up the stairs into my room and packed a bag. I grabbed my sonic screwdriver and stuck it in my leather jacket and grabbed my Torchwood ID card and stuck it in my leather jacket as well. Then I zipped up my bag and slung it over my shoulder and walked down the stairs and walked out of the house and walked to Torchwood. Donna had already gone to Torchwood. I arrived at Torchwood and grabbed my Torchwood ID card and showed it to the guard outside. The guard nodded. Then I walked inside Torchwood.
