(Izuku PoV)
I sighed from the cold air against my body. Walking up the street with a long fluffy jacket on myself wasn't how I was picturing myself at the moment.
The small cafe area was nearby and I knew that I was dreading the meeting with this Sero man. He might be my soulmate, and even if I tried to love him with everything I had, something told me he wasn't going to like me as much as Denki thought so.
You're doing this for Denki and so you at least let Sero give you a chance. If it's too hard to have a relationship with them both, you'll tell them how you feel and move on. It'll be easier that way.
And not to mention it wouldn't be easier to have a relationship at the moment anyways.
I might have one job at the moment but I was applying for a job at the flower shop, pet shop, and a cleaning company so that I could get enough money to pay for a decent house to live in, or even a decent week where I am not starving myself.
Reminder, speak with your soulmates, don't order anything. Can't risk paying any money that could go to bills or groceries.
I was relieved to see the door of the cafe. Something about not having to walk anymore made me happy. Then I realized what I was about to walk into.
Opening the cafe doors, I held it open for a young lady, and immediately spotted Denki in the corner with a guy with black hair down to his shoulders. He must have been Sero. He looked like he was wealthy. As if it could be worse. What would he think when he saw Izuku, and how poor he looked?
Denki gestured for me to come over but I could see the Sero dude's face, and it was sour. Deep breath Izuku, time to find out what exactly your other soulmate is like.
"Hey Denki! Sorry I am a bit late. I have a rough night at...work?" I hesitated to say exactly what I was doing right in front of this man. Hope Denki gets the hint.
He smiled, "It's alright. Sit, we were just talking." Denki gestured towards Sero.
"Hello Mr. Sero, it is very nice to meet you." I held out my hand but Sero only gave it a weird look before rolling his eyes.
"Hello Midoriya, the name is?" Sero then leaned against the back of the booth. "You really took your time getting here. What is the job that really held you back?"
I gulped and could see Denki glare towards Sero.
I just laughed lightly, "Well I didn't know I was that late. I'm sorry, I'm sure you both are very busy. I should have considered this."
"Yeah, well, some of us have actual jobs." Sero muttered.
Denki hit him in the arm, "Sero, stop it. You're being rude, he's your soulmate too."
"He's my soulmate, but that doesn't mean I have to love him." Sero suddenly looked straight into my eyes and I knew this was going to be a long painful moment. "Understand that?" He looked like someone who would kill you if he wanted too. He probably did want to.
"Oh....uh...." I opened my mouth to try to find anything to say. I felt like a deer in headlights.
Denki stood up, he looked insanely upset and angry, "Sero, shut up. How could you be so insensitive to this? He didn't choose this any more than you did! Can't you see more than he's taking half of me away?"
I stood up and got my way out of the booth. I didn't want to stay here any longer.
"I'm sorry. I understand, Mr. Sero. And I'll just go. Sorry for wasting your time." I turned and made my way out of the cafe.
It was a waste of time to walk up here. I knew it'd be like this. I should have just denied Denki's offer.
