As I leaned back against the bed, Chasity gave me an earful and proceeded to repeat herself for the fourth time. I closed my eyes and rubbed my temple. "Chasity," I started. But she only scolded me even harder this time. I looked at her as she went off at me while Konan was silent the whole time, watching me intently. I was already irritated with that fact that I ended up in a hospital bed. All I had to do was fake my pain, let them drag me away and make my escape but once Lancing appeared, the thought of helping Konan with Lancing became my priority.

"Are you even listening to me, Ahsa!" Chasity scolds. "How can you be so careless!"

I sighed. "You need to leave," I said to her. Chasity opens her mouth, apparently having the need to say more when I interrupted her. "I don't care. Get out. I'm done listening." She continues to cry but storms out of the room angrily. Konan didn't go after her. I looked at him with a raised brow. "What? You want to scold me too?" I mocked.

"Who beat you up?" he asks, looking me dead in the eyes. "Before Johnny, who beat you up?"

I let out a soft scoff. "What do you mean? All of this happened by Johnny and his men."

"Don't fuck with me," he growls out in a low tone. He approaches my bedside and leans over me. He grips the rails of the bed tightly as he glares at me. "You think I can't tell the difference between day old wounds and fresh ones?"

I pressed my lips into a tight line, refusing to answer. I stared back at him unfazed which seems to only irritate him even more. His eyes roamed my face over before meeting my eyes once more. "Then I shall go pay a visit to your family."

My eyes slightly widen. Konan straightens himself out and fixes his suit as he turns to leave my room. "It's none of your business," I stopped him. Konan stops and turns to glare at me once more.

"It's my business when it comes to my people," he sneers.

"I don't give a shit about your ideals," I countered. "Stay out of my personal matters."

We continue to glare at each other like a war breaking out of control, neither of us tearing away or backing down until Cas enters the room. He looks between the two of us before turning to Konan. "Mister Lionheart needs you at home, boss," he says.

Konan clenches his jaw and leaves. I watched as he left with a fist up after he left. Cas chuckles. "I see you're doing better."

"Better my ass," I snapped, still glaring at the door. I turned to Cas. "Both of them can go to hell."

Cas smirks and shoves his hands into the pocket of his pants. "How are you doing?"

"Dead inside, Cas," I stated. "The girl scolded me four times, literally repeating herself and that fucker!" I pointed to the door, still looking at Cas. I couldn't even find the words I wanted to say. "That fucker." I said crossing my arms and leaning completely back into the bed once more in annoyance. I shake my head, snickering at my situation. "I hate this."

Cas smiles this time. He grabs the chair by the table and brings it over to my bedside and settles down comfortably. He drapes an arm behind the chair and slouches slightly. "I want to know too," he then says making me look at him confused. "Was it really your family?"

I looked at him for the longest time. "We're not close enough for me to tell you anything."

"Understandable," he says with a shrug. "But you're employed by the Lionheart family." I narrowed my eyes at him when he reminds me who I was working for. "Even if you don't tell us, we'll try any means necessary to find out and deal with the problem and maybe even eliminate its source."

"Rude," I said making him smile. I looked away from him with a mental eye roll as I tried to find the right words to use. "It was simply...a lesson that had to be taught," I said carefully. I looked to Cas as he stares at me insouciantly. "I'm sure you had one of those before by your employer."
