005: Manipulative Omega

Peeking at both corners of the hallway and finding no one in sight, Xiao Zhan pushed in through the door of the King's chambers and slipped in smoothly.

He didn't in awe at the sight of the majestic and elegant chambers, he didn't have time for that as he swiftly moved toward the King's study table at the corner of the room, shattered with scrolls and piles of paper. He ransacked through them, searching for something in particular.

He grunted in disappointment when he didn't find what he seek and changed direction and searched the King's lockers instead and then he found it, nearly written report files with the names and details of the people that vanished from their tribe.

Xiao Zhan's hardened eyes searched the names, reading one after the other, searching for one in particular. "Where are you, Mother?" He didn't want to think of the possibility of his mother not being among those in the King's dungeons unless he had killed her.

The Omega restrained his thoughts from wandering far. However, his search came to an end when he heard the sound of the door. Instantly, he put everything back in its place and shut the King's locker, and immediately walked toward the door just in time as it swung open to reveal the face of the man the Omega fantasized about.

"Oh, Commander Wang, we meet again,"

The commander stepped into the chambers and did a quick scan with his eagle likes before looking back at the Omega suspiciously. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to look for the King," Xiao Zhan lied smoothly.

Wang Yibo pushed up an eyebrow. "The King?" The suspicion in his tone heightened.

Xiao Zhan quickly nodded. "Yes. Why would I be here if not for the King? This is his chamber,"

One thing Wang Yibo hated the most was when he was being lied to and since this Omega stepped into the palace, he had done nothing but lie to his face without batting an eye. "You seem to have a habit of lying," he took a threatening step back and Xiao Zhan took one back and the steps continued.

"What do you mean, Commander Wang?" Xiao Zhan's voice didn't waver and he smirked underneath his white veil.

"Do you seriously think you can fool me with your petty lies.." his dark eyes went darker than they already were and Xiao Zhan realized he just pushed a button he shouldn't have. He continued to approach while Xiao Zhan continued to retreat. "I will ask you again, what were you doing in the King's chambers and choose your words wisely, they might be your last,"

Xiao Zhan gasped when the back of his knee hit the large bed in the middle of the room, he realized he had been cornered by the Alpha and it wasn't so bad. This close, Xiao Zhan could get more of his Alpha's scent. "You can't hurt me, I'm the prince's future consort and your future Queen,"

"Stepping into the King's chambers without permission is trespassing, especially to the likes of you with an unknown motive. I could throw you in the dungeons for this and I wouldn't be asked any questions!"

"Why haven't you?!" Xiao Zhan challenged, taking a step forward and closing the little gap between their bodies. "Why haven't you thrown me in the dungeons yet, Alpha, unless you are all bark and no bite,"

The Alpha roughly grabbed Xiao Zhan's arm and his eyes flamed with rage. "You have a death wish?!"

Xiao Zhan smirked and reached out his hand and caressed the Alpha's strong jaw to his neck. He stared deep into his eyes and uttered the words in the sweetest and most melodious tone. "As long as I will die by your sword, it's worth it,"

Instantly, Wang Yibo let go and distanced himself. "Shameless!"

Xiao Zhan giggled and crossed his arms on his chest. "You make a big deal out of nothing, Commander Wang. As I said, I came in search of the King since I thought he had returned to be in his chambers after his meeting with the council. I was going to leave till you barged in and now, I ask you, Commander Wang, what are you doing in the King's chambers, for all we know you could be the one with an unknown motive. You've been acting quite suspiciously, are you planning on rebelling against the King," the Omega faked a gasp and clap a hand over his mouth.

Commander Wang couldn't believe his ear and he nearly gaped. "What are you trying to say?"

"You had no right yet you accused me of crimes you cooked up in your head. I'm only giving you a taste of your own medicine. No hard feelings, Commander Wang,"

"Do you think you can get away with this by turning the tables?" Wang Yibo questioned, amused yet he kept the emotion out of his tone.

"I did nothing wrong,"

Again, Wang Yibo got closer abruptly and Xiao Zhan bottom landed on the bed and was towered over.

Their eyes were locked and no one said anything in a while as they swam in each other's eyes, each with a different motive. Xiao Zhan aimed to enchant and he almost succeeded in luring the Alpha in when Wang Yibo broke free from his trance.

"A friendly warning, watch your back,"

"Is that a threat?" Xiao Zhan catechized.

"It is a promise and I don't give empty promises," Wang Yibo's eyes held no emotions and Xiao Zhan almost wondered if he was capable of feeling. "As the Commander of the King's army, I swore to protest this kingdom to the last drop of my blood and if you are here to ruin what I'm protecting, then consider me your biggest enemy because I will be watching your every step, Omega Xiao Zhan,"

With that, he withdrew and walked out of the Chambers, leaving Xiao Zhan who suddenly had problems catching his breath as he placed his hand on his chest to calm his drumming heart.

"We have something in common, Commander Wang,"

They both swore to protect.

Xiao Zhan returned to his chambers where the rest of the Omegas waited.

"Did you find her?" Fanxing grilled.

"I didn't," Xiao Zhan answered with a blank tone. "But we might have a problem," he peered at the Omegas.

"What's the problem?" Xiao Xingchen quizzed.

"Commander Wang Yibo,"
