I turn off the shower and quickly dry off then change into leggings and a shirt. I gather my things and leave the locker room in hopes of not running into anyone and just getting straight home. I make it out to the parking lot to see my mom,brother, and calum standing together talking. I slowly walk up behind them and cough, hoping someone notices my presence.
"Hailey! Good game! I'm so proud of you!" My mom says as she pulls me into a hug. I can see calum smirking out of the corner of my eye. Landon rubs my back as I pull away from my mom and he pulls me into a hug next.
"Yeah, great job. You're improving so well. M quite proud of ya." he says and I stand up straight and hope no one notices the tension between calum and I.
"Your coach just came over to tell us you were improving tremendously and that you've dedicated yourself so much. He was hoping you'd maybe even want to help coach kids this summer with him?" My throat goes dry at the thought of spending the summer with calum. Maybe we could go to the beach or go on a RoadTrip together. Calum looks at me, waiting for a response.
"Yeah, um, if I'm not too busy." I say as I look down at my dirty shoes
"Come on hailey, you won't be too busy. All you do is watch movies and eat. " my mom says as she chuckles. My cheeks heat up as my mom confesses this embarrassing truth in front of Calum.
"Alright. I've got to meet up with the rest of the team for our annual ice cream. See you all later." Calum says as his eyes linger on me longer than usual. He smirks then walks away.
"My god he's so hot. " my mom says once he's out of our view. My cheeks go red again
"Mom stop it!"
