Previously on a thawed heart: Apparently as you were deep in thought you didn't notice the bell ringing indicating that somebody had walked in...

"Ahem.."A deep voice sounded behind you. You jumped and whipped your head around surprised that you weren't in the shop alone. And there in front of you standing as tall as ever in his gray and brown vest suit was Ebenezer Scrooge. "I am sorry i didn't mean to frighten you" he said looking at you worried. You couldnt believe it. Sorry?When was Ebenezer Scrooge ever sorry? Now that you were looking at him he seemed off... He had bags under his eyes probably from working all night. You suddenly felt bad, you were just thinking about how you were going to give him a stern talk about paying Bob more. But...when you looked at his tired face your agression started melting away and you didn't know why.

"Its ok Mr. Scrooge, sorry i didn't hear you come in" You said slipping past him trying not to touch him. He hated being touched, one time you saw Bob hug him. Scrooge proceeded to tell off Bob for the next 15 minutes."Did you need something sir?" You said walking around the counter looking back at him as he walked with you.

"Ah yes im here to collect on your rent Miss (L/N)." He said checking his watch, he seemed friendlier today. You totally forgot that you didn't have the 30 pounds in full. Shit you cant aford to pay 60 pounds next month. It couldnt hurt to ask, though you knew he wouldn't give you a extension. You looked down at the 15 pounds in your cash register your heart droppingat the thought of losing your shop.

"I am so sorry Mr Scrooge, but im afraid i can't pay it all in full...i only have half of what I owe you." You tried to hide the worry in your voice as you looked up expecting to meet his normal icey gaze, but it was different this time. It was warm and you could swear you saw a faint smile. It took you by surprise you had never seen him smile before."Um..Mr Scrooge?" Almost like in a trance he snapped out of it, his face became a warm shade of red.

" W-What?...oh yes of course that will do y/n" I said not releasing what she had ment. I was to busy looking at her worried face I could help her just this once. When she had processed what i said she gave me the most joyous smile i had ever seen on her face. I felt my face heat up.Wait what was happening? i have never had butterflies like this?! How enbearising...i quickly turned my head trying to hide my face"Are you sure?But i owe you 30 pounds.." she said wanting to make sure she heard me right. "Yes its ok i assure you Miss L/N " i said,i didn't mine i really didn't need the other 15 at the moment. "Thank you Ebenezer!" She said happily. I watched her scurry as she put the 15 pounds in a small drawstring bag. She went around the counter and before i could say another word she huged me.

You didn't even think about it, you acted on instance when you hugged him its how your family showed affection. That wasn't what shocked you. What shocked you is that when you hugged him he hugged you back. Not a full hug by what ever means it was more of awkward half-hug. He backed away after the 'hug'. You looked up at him still surprised, The color on his face shifted into a darker pink "W-Well um...i better be on my way."He said as he gently the small bag that was still in your hand still blushing. He started for the door "Wait!" You said a little more forcefully then you meant to. He turned to face you "Yes y/n?" he said curiously. "I hope you have a good rest of your evening." You smiled at him warmly. "You too, I'll see you tomorrow y/n." he said with a slight smile as he walked out of the door.
What in the world where you thinking?! And what did he mean by see you tomorrow?

It was getting late now you closed up your shop and started making your way home. Now that you were thinking about it...your house was just down the road from Scrooge's home. You couldn't get your mind off of him you kept replying the things that happened today in your mind still trying to rap your head around it. You ate dinner and fell asleep thinking of him you wondered if he was doing the same...
