His POV
I almost lost her. And it's my fault.
I almost lost the only thing I've ever loved in life. The one thing that keeps me fighting, keeps me breathing. I feel something wet on my face and bring my hand up to wipe it off. Tears. I'm crying. I haven't cried in years. The last time I cried was when my mother died. I swore that day I'd never feel the same pain again. But here I am, crying again, for the girl I love. I reach my hand out and softly intertwine my warm fingers, with her cold ones. I look up at her peaceful face. 'She looks so relaxed. So different from when I found her'. I thought.

I reach my hand up and softly brush away the hair in her face. "I don't know if you can hear me." I start, voice hoarse. "But I need you to wake up. Please. If you want me to beg, I'll beg. Just please, please, wake up." I plead, my voice getting quieter with each word. "I never meant what I said. I was scared. I-I love you. Please." I whisper, placing my head on our intertwined hands. I cry quietly, just the sounds of her machines beeping fill the empty room.

At some point I must have fallen asleep because the next time I wake up there's a soft hand running through my hair. I jump up and come face to face with a pale, smiling emery. "Hi." She whispers, voice weak and hoarse.  "H-hi." I whisper back, shocked she's awake. "Are you ok?" She asks looking down at our still intertwined hands, that are now resting on her lap. I look at her confused and bring our hands to my face, placing light kisses on her knuckles. "Am I ok?" I repeat back, confused on why she's worried about me.

"Mhm." She mumbles looking tired. "I'm perfect now that you're awake." I whisper, leaning up to kiss her forehead. "I love you too." She whispers, eyes slowly falling shut. "I love you more than words can explain." I whisper, pecking her soft lips. "I'm gonna sleep now." She whispers, eyes closing. I go to say something but the machines start beeping crazily. I jump up from my seat and run into the hallway. "DOCTORS!! I NEED A DOCTOR NOW!!" I yell frantically as people come running in.

4 days later.....

His POV
"Baby? Babe?" I hear a soft voice whisper in my ear. I roll over and come face to face with emery. The women I love. "Are you ok?" She whispers softly, running her hand up and down my bare chest. "Yea. Just another nightmare." I whisper, rolling on my side to face her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do this." She whispers, looking down. "Hey. This is not your fault." I demand softly, grabbing her face in my hands. She looks up at me, tears glistening in her eyes. "I'm ok. You're ok. That's all that matters." I tell her, pulling her to lay on my chest.

She cuddles into me and I take a moment to look over her. She has scars, more than before the accident. Her torso is still wrapped in bandages and her hand wrapped as well. I'm brought out of my staring by lips touching mine. I close my eyes and enjoy the soft feeling. All too quickly she pulls away and looks at me. "I'm ok. You're ok. I love you." She whispers, stroking my jaw softly. "I love you too." I whisper back as she lays down and we fall asleep.
