I sit in my living room, watching the fireplace, finding a sense of peace in watching the flames dance. I look up to the clock that reads 9:34 'Callan should be back soon.' I thought, laying down on the couch. My eyes flutter shut every once in a while but I fight sleep off. I stare into the flames and watch as they light up the dark room. I'm pulled out of my thoughts when a hand touches my face.
I look up and see Callan kneeling next to the couch in front of me. "Are you ok, darling?" He whispers, pushing hair out of my face. "Mhm." I mumble tiredly, leaning into his cold hand. "C'mon love. Let's get you to bed." He says, standing up. Callan slides one arm under my knees and the other on my lower back before lifting me off the couch. I snuggle into his chest and sigh in content. "Thank you." I whisper, kissing his shoulder.
"Your welcome darling." Callan mutters, kissing the top of my head. He walks into my bedroom and towards my bed. He pulled my deep green silk sheets back and gently placed me into bed. "Do you want to change?" He whispers, rubbing my check with his thumb. "Mhm." I mumble, opening my eyes to look at him. He nods his head and walks towards my closet, opening it and pulling out boxers and his football sweatshirt that I've stolen from him.
He walks back towards the bed and slowly helps me get out of my clothes. He slides his boxers up my legs and helps me slip into his sweatshirt. Callan quickly strips down to his boxers and pulls on a pair of gray sweatpants, before climbing into bed next to me. He pulls me into his arms, my head resting on his chest. I listen to the steady sound of his heart beat before the silence is broken.
"I love you darling." Callan mumbles, leaning down to peck my lips. "I love you too baby." I whisper, leaning up to peck his lips.
I lay back down on his chest, my fingers running small circles on his bare chest. My eyes slowly flutter shut and I fall asleep to the soft snores of my boyfriend.
