CHAPTER ONE

Everyone has a demon inside of them. It depends on them if they want to release it or not.

we finally found a house to stay in, it was small but it's what we need (shelter). I let my team check the house if it was clean of those weirdos.

" It's all clear !" Niel said

" Good now all move in! " I said with authority

The house felt cold and abandon. The floors were wet and some planks of wood were missing. The wallpapers were peeling off and have lots of brown stains. There were broken glass on the floors and a few outdated newspapers. The house only have 2 bedrooms that contains only a mattress and a broken closet, a leaky bathroom and an old dirty kitchen. I told my team to go the bedrooms and rest but be careful. I picked up a few broken picture frames that was on the floor, but there was this one picture that caught my eye. It's a picture of a family, tears started to form in my eyes.

"Rebecca!" I was cut out of my flashback when Brian called me.

"what is it Brian?" I asked him

I spotted him in the kitchen inspecting the cabinets. I approached him and placed a hand over his shoulder.

"We're low on supplies. I don't think we can last another week."

"Shit! I have to get us supplies again"

"Can I get it this time?" he asked me.

"No" I said coldly

"Why no? You don't think I'm strong enough?! " he said in anger

I sighed and rubbed the temples of my head then said " Let me remind you that I am YOUR leader! I give the orders here! Don't disrespect me! I can handle this on my own. You should stay here and protect the others. That's an order!"

He looked at the ground at the realization of what he did. "I'm sorry captain" then he looked at me and saluted then left the kitchen.

I went upstairs to prepare myself, as I arrive upstairs everyone was resting, I must not let them know. I don't want them to worry about me. I took my gun and place it in the brim of my jeans and put everything I need in my bag.

I was about to go downstairs when David suddenly appeared at the door to stop me.

"where are you going?" he asked

"Out" I said with no emotion in my tone.

"I'm coming with you."

"No" i said to him sternly " you are to stay here and protect the team! that's an order." I said in my leader tone.

"As a soldier I must follow ... but as a friend I can't let you do that." he said with sympathy in his eyes.

This is why I can't let them know, it hurts to see them care for me. I sighed and said

" I can do this, don't worry about me. Just protect and guard the team. Don't let anything happen to them. Can you do that?" I said to him while he was facing the floor. I grabbed his chin gently and faced him to me. "Can you do that?" I asked him. " yes captain." he said softly. I patted his head and gave him a small smile.

I went downstairs approaching the front door. I turned the doorknob and went outside. It was pouring so i put the hood on my jacket.

At the market

I need to be careful they're everywhere. I was in one of the aisle crouching down. I put everything we need in the food section inside the two duffle bags I have, trying my best not to make a sound. We need water. I scanned the store and found where all the gallons of water are but there was a bunch of THEM lurking around. I put out my gun and aimed it at the can at the 3rd aisle. I need a distraction. I hit the can and it made a  sound loud enough for them to hear, they went to the sound just like I wanted. I pulled out my rope and tied two gallons of water together in a way i can hang them on my shoulder. then suddenly i heard a gun shot. When I turned around I saw on the floor a dead corpse. What? Who? Where?

"I can't let you go out here on your own." he said then took the gallons of  water and the duffle bags. he was also carrying two duffle bags of his own so now he was carrying four bags and two gallons of water. I glared at him then sighed and took another two gallons of water. "we need to get out of here. now!"

because of my wonderful team mate (note the sarcasm) we were now running. Because of that gun shot he made, the distraction I made was useless. We reached the exit right on time and I spotted a motorcycle in front of us. I looked at him questionably he just shrug and hopped on the motorcycle. I was about to ask him where he got it but they were almost close to us so I just hopped on and let him drive.

at the house

As I enter the house a hug suddenly greeted me and a very hard bop on the head T_T, it was Lalaine. Everybody was waiting for me. I hugged lalaine back and she let go.

" What's going on here? Why are you not resting?" I asked them and gave them all death glares.

" we were worried about you captain." lalaine told me.

"you told them?!" i said to brian

he raised up his hands in surrender " I didn't! they already knew!"

I sighed. what else can i do?

"okay now im here. come on and help me make dinner."
