Chapter 3

The guy turns around and smirks at my expression.

"I think you have the wrong room" I say quickly.

"Actually, this is the right room and you must be my roommate" he says with a deep, sexy voice.

"I'm a girl, isn't there a rule about having a roommate with the same gender?"

"All the rooms were full and my parents paid extra to get me a room to stay in" he says while continuing unpacking.

This can't be happening to me. I don't deserve a cocky, know-it-all jerk as a roommate. I sigh and fall back on my bed and lay there for a couple of minutes. I watch him unpack for a little bit, not really caring if he knows I'm watching or not.

He has brown hair that falls in his blue eyes. He is really muscular from what I can see. He is way taller than me probably about 6"4. He has a prominent jawline and soft pink lips.

This won't be too bad. I could get used to sharing a room with a hot guy. I realize I don't know his name yet and wonder if I should ask him. I gather my thoughts and decide I should since we are basically living together for a year.

"Hey, what's your name?" I ask.

"Jake, yours?" He says finishing unpacking and walking over to my bed.

"A-Ashely" I squeak. I sit up and lean back against the head board and move my legs so he can sit.

"Sexy name," he says looking at my face which makes me uncomfortable.

"Uhhh... You too?"

I probably sound like an idiot, but I honestly don't know how to respond to that. He sits next to me and leans against the headboard too.

"You do know that you have your own bed, right?"

I don't feel comfortable letting him sit so close to me. He ignores my question and casually places his hand on my thigh making me jump.

"What are you doing?!" I scream.

He starts laughing really hard at my reaction. I'm not sure why he's laughing so I push him off my bed and he lands on the floor with a 'thud'. I giggle quietly and look at the time.

"Oh My God!!" I exclaim loudly and pull on my Steve Madden combat boots.

He gets up from the floor looking startled. He looks around quickly looking for any sign of danger.

"What is it?"

"We are late for dinner!!" I say hurrying out the door.

"Calm down! I'm coming!"

I can hear him running after me, but I don't stop until I reach the elevator.

"Are you really hungry?" He asks incredulously.

"I'm a growing girl! Of course I'm hungry!" I push the down arrow and wait for the elevator to come up.

When it finally 'dings' and the sliding doors open we hurry inside. When we make it to the dining hall, everyone has already started eating. I hear people whispering when they see me and when I look in their direction they look away.

We both grab plates and go in different directions. The dining hall has several tables on one side. The other side has different lines. You can choose Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian, American, etc. I choose Italian and swipe my food card and get in line. I fill my plate with lasagna and pizza.

After I have my food I sit down at an empty table and order sweet tea. I start eating and hear chairs being pulled out and people sitting down. I look up and see three girls and a two guys sitting down at my table.

"Umm excuse me? I was sitting here first," I say politely.

"Oh, I didn't think you'd mind, you looked kind of lonely" the brunette says looking around nervously. They start getting up to leave, but I stop them.

"Actually, it's okay," I say and introduce myself.

They introduce themselves as Blake, Seth, Alex, Erin, and Jade. They talk a bit and I stay quiet not knowing what to say. I quickly finish eating and say my good byes and head up to my room. I hadn't realize how exhausted I was. When I get to my room I hear noises inside. I unlock the door and have the urge to throw up a the sight before me.

What did I do to deserve this?
